onto engine number 3..........

man last time i looked you only had just put the mounts in :p looks awesome!

Driven it yet??

Drove it last night, was slightly short lived though..........

Turns out the Tegiwa k-swap driveshafts are very poor, the drivers side shaft felt like it was too short when fitting, right enough took it for a drive round the block and the car rumbles like mad

So looks like with being too short the inner CV has almost separated itself

Will be on the phone today to return these and see if performancetek or R-motion can sort me out with something decent :angry2:

besides that, engine feels superb, gearbox is epic with the 5.1 and the k-tuned shifter. going to see if i can get shafts for tomorrow so i can go drive this at the weekend

tegiwa parts not fitting....

Hope you get it sorted soon man, still cant believe you got it this far in such a short time! :win:

aye, typical eh! Thought i would give themn the benefit of the doubt, but you live and learn i guess

Sure Gerry will be able to sort me out, will involve a road trip to Glasgow Saturday morning though...........

Booked in with Henry for mapping a week tomorrow :nice:

Looks like youl make the ring trip by the skin of your teeth..................

Bit of a hiccup though, atleast you have driven it!
Out of interest, how didnt you keep your oil cooler setup? Or have i missed that

Murray

it's a standard engine and will only be revving to 8500 (k20 oil pumps can't take more than 8500 as they cavitate beyond that), so SHOULD be running cooler than the B series which revved to 9600 and was very non-standard

going to run it on good oil for now for a few good hard runs and keep an eye on temps to determine if a cooler is required and if so work out what size of cooler would suit the engine if needed!

k20 should naturally run cooler though with the layout since you don't have the exhaust manifold out front filling the engine bay with heat and passing under the sump heating up the oil :)

my mate who is taking his DC2 to germany with me, was round at his rebuilding his gearbox until 11pm last night after working on my car!

Shame about the shafts mate I though you would of got dss ones. Can't wait to see what figures you get all the best with it!

After you telling me to buy an HR radiator, you buy Tegiwa shafts. Disappointed Steven LOL :p

what about the oem shaft combo?

unfortunate taht the driveshafts are crap, like the bseries ones were meant to be, is the dude with the k20 dc2 on here not using them also? not alans mate, the other dude with 98 spec rims iirc.
