May want to wait for RA to post on this, i know he built a motor with a full 5 cap ERL girdle, IIRC the potential for align hone is still there, if the girdle does not line up perfectly it could distort the main caps and put more torque in one place etc which could lead to spun bearings, scored crank, engine failure, etc... Once again i am not 100% sure on this...
 
If you are confident with your machining and what not, then go ahead and do it - I would have wanted to build my motor with the 5 cap, but we never did end up doing it with that and instead a buddy stepped up and just went with an Endyn or maybe it was a GE, I can't recall.

We did it because of time issues and the machine shop was booked solid.
 
ah right, did you see the spec of the engine im going to build if you havnt have a look tell me what you think, open to ur opinion, and also advise on the catch tank.
