When does it smoke, on gas, when you're letting go of the throttle or just all the time?

Oil or antifreeze being burnt off.
Oil would be a white/blue color.
Antifreeze would be more white.

Vtec engines tend to burn a bit of oil regardless. An increase over normal would mean the engine is starting to get old/worn. When the engine starts to wear badly, will burn more oil out the exhaust--watching oil consumption is important, especially in older civic or any car for that matter.

Now burning antifreeze/water is not a good sign, blown head gasket most likely. Letting this go for a long period of time will cause damage to the Cylinder walls, polishing them basically, which is not good, oil consumption will go up... worst case, you have a cracked head or block, or both--but not likely.

I would appreciate it if you would try to type regular English the best you can :nice: What does it depend on?

any blue smoke when letting of about 7500 rpm and planting her again?
how much oil does car consum ever month or 1000miles?
9 out of 10 b series use oil, excessive is worrying

thanks guys

so you would reckon blown head gasket is the reason why my car is smocking out white :S
and sorry mate what do you mean by anti freeze

Remove the oil cap and check for a kinda milky/white sluggy susbtance on the underside of the cap and in the head.

Typical sign of ****ed headgasket. Has power been affected?

...only way to really know is to take the head off and once you do that there is no going back, can not reuse the head gasket. ...sorry anti freeze over here is "coolant" or "radiator fluid". :blinx:

orite cheerz mate yeah my car is drinking alot of radiator fluid..
and no mate i still have the power thier :S
and cheerz buddy all have a look at my oil cap
and will let you know :)

it booked in honda for tomorow so they will be able to tell em what wrong

i have a b16b using alot of oil but only leeting smoke out when i come to lights or slowing down for round abouts please helps smells reli bad

well honda said a need new seals or something like that
so will be gettng that doe soon
and that should stop the car drinking oil

yeh a would have said head gasket but as honda have stated seal are away which is usual with wear and tear on a older engine, hopefully will be smoke free soon mate ;)

and white smoke is water related either a head gasket leak or condensation building up in the exaust but that should clear after a good run,do a leak down test or but a head gasket flud tester of ebay really easy and simple to use or if its bad enough it will 'steam clean' the plug.
any blue smoke is oil related and B series engones are notorious for valve stem seals goin and typically smoke when letting off the throttle, changing gear and pulling up at the lights, prety much a head off job to fix and refurb the surrounding bits
