Since I started to break my ek9 mid last year (which is basically all gone now, got a couple of bushes and sensors left! Lol ) I have owned an ep3. Been a great great car in every way!

Miss my ek9 like mad but after over 6 years of ownership and close to £25k spent and all my love thrown at it, it was the right time for it to go. Won't ever own a more fun car though!

But the ep3 was only ever a stop gap. My original plan was to get the new type R autumn this year. Had th deposit etc sorted with honda but pulled out and got it back. Just felt tht there was the potential to lose way too much on th value of it.

My plan now is to get an FD2, the import 4 door saloon. Absolutely love them. Been in love ever since I sat in Bill Allisons at a Honda meet last year! Fancy one around April then keep it for 3 or 4 years give it my eternal honda love like my ek9 got then see what new type R is like then maybe get one wen they are a bit cheaper.

What are people's thoughts on FD2 ' S? not seen any owners on here? Only 1 on ebay just now but not a perfect example. A few on pistonheads. Could contact Torque GT, anyone kno what they are like? Type R dunc in the fd2 import game?

I love fd2's. I think they are brilliant. We had Bill's one in at my old work. Ended up needing a new gearbox from the motherland.... not cheap.

If your not in a massive rush, there is a guy on here called 'guest'. I believe he is getting his in February or March so could always speak to him and see how he finds it etc.

Meant to be the ultimate.

Friend of mine had one a few years ago and the arches rusted really quick. Assume it's due to the newer water based paint these days.

Make sure you watch out for that!

FD2s are cracking motors. Do buy one, doubt you'll regret it.

I have a feeling that whilst it'll be slower than the new Civic Type R, the FD2 may be a more raw and involving car to drive.

If you look after it - which I'm pretty sure you will - it should be fairly strong in future values. No experience with them, but Torque GT looks like a decent shout.

I haven't driven one and I've only seen one once in person but judging from the Best Motoring tests it's the ultimate type R. Unlikely Honda will ever build something like it again with all the regulations now.

I've only heard good things about them aswell, must be a cracking car!

Yea Bill told me about the new gearbox fiasco, hopefully just a faulty one! Luckily he got a wed hand one for it.

Nice one I will try contacting him thanks ;)

Yea it's meant to an amazing machine. From the bids on you tube it certainly looks it! ;)

All honda arches rust in this country if not looked after properly. Having had 3 Honda's now I feel I would not let the rust happen if possible! ;)

Defo going to get one Saqib! Having owned the ek9 for so long then in the ep3 now I feel the fd2 would be a great choice! :)

Yea I was thinking it would t depreciate too much so thts a good thing! :) I will give torque GT an email ;) cheers

I have seen one maybe two in flesh which is great. I hate driving a car like the ep3 where there is one on every street! Lol even though it's a great car!

Yea like the ek9 it will be unique!

Cracking car probably the only car od have over my 9. Although i do have a soft spot for the dc5 as well.

Yea it does seem an excellent car, really really gona look into gettin one by May. I do like the DC5 also. Drove my mates many times and it goes great but the loose feeling gear changes and cheap looking dials put me off!

No, this car was mint and properly under sealed, this was due to crap paint.
