Well as some of you know, my car was involved in an accident. Not my fault.

Having a nightmare with her insurance esure, basically from the beginning they offered me £700 for my car as you could imagine i declined that offer. Got a phone call next day and they offered more, but only £1000 and i turned that down

So my claim was put through to the complaints department where they assessed it, i sent emails with similar EK9's for sale so they could see the prices of them. Also sent pics of my modifications done to the car and the cost of them too.

Never heard anything for nearly 2 weeks and i got a letter in from them today saying final response and final offer of £1100. Also there was a leaflet inside for the Financial Ombudsman to contact them if i was still unhappy, which i am!

Contacted them and they can't help me as its not my insurance company cause I'm the third party. Will be phoning esure tomorrow again to complain, but where do i go from here?

Sky insurance are taking nothing to do with it now so I'm on my own here trying to fight this. Anyone help me out here?

Could be wrong as I have never had the mis fortune to have such problems touch wood, but don't you get an option to buy the car back?

Yeah there is that option, they want 35% of the offer to get my car back. So that leaves me with £715 to replace full side of car and get a respray. Going to have to put my own money towards it which i think i should not be doing!

That is a really **** situation, i am surprised that sky cant help out in some way.

Maybe try contacting a lawyer?

Yea that is **** mate. Especially as it wasnt your fault. You should probably seek professional advice buddy

Sounds like a pretty dick move from sky! You pay them enough and then they mug you off when someone pastes your car. Glad I switched insurance companies now.
Hopefully you get a result.

I'd try to contact a company that deals with third party claims - Arnold Clark dealt with mine a few years back and I had to do absolutely nothing - they handled the whole thing pretty much. This was with a EK3 mind you so more of a "standard" situation for them, but they (or similar company) might be able to help. Other than that I'd send them a letter stating that you are NOT happy with their offer since the sum offered does not cover the damage you sustained and that you are seeking legal advice on how to proceed. Then contact citizen advice bureau and see if they can help.

Gutter to hear about your car Sammy. :((

Insurance companies, in general, are terrible to deal with.

My advice would be to put everything in writing, preferably letter rather than email. Send a summary of your complaint to the Ombudsman, Esure and Sky. I'm sure if you press hard enough you can get a positive outcome without hiring a solicitor. If you have proof of the purchase price of the car and modifications be sure to include them. Also send Esure and the Ombudsman proof of the sum Sky have your car insured for.

Mention the delay/ stress caused by their lack of action. Potentially if the insurance company fail to deal with it properly they may have to pay you compensation on top of the value of your car.

In general, don't take no as an answer. :nice: The insurance company are trying to palm you off. Be persistent and firm with them.

Why won't Sky help you?

Cheers guys, will be phoning them tomorrow and see what they say and take it from there.

The ombudsman said today that they can do nothing with this as i am not the customer of esure. The last time i spoke with Sky all they said was that they passed over the emails to esure and its now down to esure to deal with it and they have done there bit. Going to contact them again also

Getting really sick of it all to be honest and just want it sorted out!

I won't be renewing with sky after reading this.

You'd expect the insurance company you have a policy with to be backing you up.

No way this is Sky.. I was going to go with Sky as well after my current one runs out since they "specialize" in imports and modified vehicles. I'm currently with Diamond/ Admiral and when I called them up, I stressed to them that it was a Japanese Import and a 98 1.6 Type R. They thought it was an FN2 from their systems (I got a wee bit offended).

But anyway, I'm not sure what you can do if the financial ombudsman can't do **** about it... But as Marek mentioned, you could try the Citizens Advice Bureau (I used to work there) and they will do a lot to help you. All you need to do is tell them what happened etc. I remember one client came in because he got pulled over for being uninsured, my colleague spent about 2 months on the case speaking with the insurer and got recordings that the client actually asked to be insured or something and got the client's penalty points over turned and the insurer fuked up in this scenario. Just be detailed as much as possible. Don't tell the insurer that you are taking this up to the Bureau though, you want a nice head start. Hope this helps.

Worst case scenario you can make a claim on your own policy with Sky. That would get their attention.

They would pay out to you and would then try and recover the costs from Esure.

It would mean you would have to cough up an excess and risk you NCB but you would hopefully get this back once the costs are reclaimed from Esure.

what a load of wank! Insurers are a bunch of thieves in suits. kunts!!! :nono:
