NCB on 2 cars

Hi guys need some advice on No Claims Bonus.

Ive currently got 1 years NCB and im currently 6 months into my 2nd year.
I want to insure another car and keep my 1st car insured so basically have 2 cars insured. Im not going to have a multicar policy as its cheaper for me to have 2 separate policies, ive shopped around everywhere.
My concern is what will happen to my NCB as im aware you can only build NCB on 1 car, im guessing it will start from zero again?
Ive already paid upfront for my 1st car and in 6 months time i would have received 2 years NCB, in perfect circumstances i would be able to build another NCB on my 2nd car.

Hope some insurance company can chime in.
 
You can look at getting a mirrored NCB policy so the second car runs separate to the first car but the NCB discount is mirrored over. We can offer this type of policy but the mirrored vehicle has to cover a maximum of 5000 miles.

Thanks for you quick reply, this mirrored NCB is exactly what im looking for. My 1st car does less than 1k mileage a year and my 2nd car will do less than 10k possibly even less than 5k. What details do you need me to PM you, if i dont get a chance now will try this evening. Thanks

Thanks mate im paying 550 for my ek9 with 1 year ncb and been quoted 550 for my ep3 with the same company as 2 seperate policies. If i go multicar they are asking 1200? I really dont understand insurance companies so annoying, even worse us specialist companies like sky, flux etc are asking over 2k for the ek9!

That's a lot considering you won't be driving one
Very much ,just make that clear that you won't be doing any more than 5k in the second car ,

Try Brentacre, I'd been with Sky and Adrian Flux before which were both good but now I've tried Brentacre I don't think I'll be going elsewhere unless they get expensive or screw up big time. They mirrored my NCB and they virtually don't care what modifications you have until you start increasing power, then the price goes up a bit. But you could have a caged track car with bucket seats and no interior and if you kept the engine stock they'd treat it as a standard vehicle! Everyone I ever spoke to from their team was genuinely nice and helpful and they drive fast cars themselves so know what's what.

Thanks mate. Looks like i got a few companies to check out now. Will let you guys know the outcome.

When it comes time to get quotes if you PM'd me your number i'll call you personally running a quote only takes 3-4 minutes so nice and easy.

We operate a policy that allows unlimited modifications (including roll cage, buckets etc) free of charge within BHP bandings so you can literally add the mods throughout the year free of charge, you can even do it via PM.

We can even off track day cover and agreed value on certain policies if required.

This sounds good, im currently at work from 8am to 8pm mon to sat, no time for calls only texting! Will definately sort something out. Thanks again.
