here we go, after a wash on a once in a blue moon fine day! has anybody used this demon shine spray on shine before? i tried it after i had washed it and these are the results. i think it came up pretty well. could be a good purchase for a final once over at shows after the commute to the actual show?

comments always welcome, good and bad :D

thanks guys. looks like its gunna be cut out and new metal welding in then by all the comments ive read. brilliant lol.

i was thinking of riveting on some universal JDM style arches. think this could either look really good. or outrageously bad.

failed its MOT this week on

number plate lights,
incorrect colour indicator bulb,
deteriorated front number plate,
CV joint,
excessive emissions failure (CAT non effective)

i have rectified all these with the instilation of import sized plates, new cat and CV joint.

i have also retained my old CAT. think ill bore this out and use it as a decat pipe? what do you guys think?

With your old cat you can you can empty the inside and take it to a scrappy and get 15 pounds but make sure you don't breathe the dust tho

okay guys, got a quick question for you lot.

the coilovers im running atm are ebay jobbies. so i know they arnt the best quality etc etc. however i have them wound down to the bottom for as much lows as i can get. recently however, i have noticed a metallic tap/rattle from the rear coilovers when driving on en-even or rough roads. i am presuming that this is the shocks bottoming out and the sound of the washer contacting my standard tophats.

so i was looking through a prelude forum (my next car maybe) and realised that all the stanced ludes use JDM tophats that are alot deeper than standard/coilover tophats. this got me thinking.

would installing a set of extended tophats stop my annoying rattle/tap or indeed if any of you guys run a set of these extended top hats?

heres a picture of what i mean:

extended:

what do you guys think??

First port of call would be to check all bushings, drop links and balljoints. If your car is still making the knocking then raise it up. Theres no sense in purposely damaging your car by having it too low.

your right maffy, checked all bushings, drop links etc.

must be my coilovers.

instead of raising them, im going to get a set of these extended top-hats. thus having the effect of raising the height by increasing the damping range.

fingers crossed this will eliminate my clanky rattle.

ill get some pics once ive invested and fitted them so you can all have a look.

cool! Let us know how you get on with them. I've never heard of them before but now you've explained it I see what the purpose of them is! Hope you get sorted either way man!

Tbh by the time you start trying to make cheap coilovers last and work properly you may as well pay out for a new set of meister R at least you get a warranty and you don't have to fanny about every 100 miles or so.

trust i've been there.. Not with civics, but still i learnt the hard way NOT to go cheap..

will do maffy.

yeh i see what you mean tropher, but ive had "cheap" ebay coilovers on 4 cars so far and only ever had one problem. but that was sorted free of charge due to the 3 year warranty.

with the tophats aswel as the coilovers they will have cost me £270 quite a way off Meister R money id say?? and do the exact same job?

well guys i have taken the plunge and bought myself a set of extended top hats from the USA

i couldnt be arsed to fab up my own and im not confident at welding something thats so important for the cars function. on the plus side. anodised purple should look a treat against the thunder grey under the bonnet :D
