Well as stories go ive been speaking with will about getting my car mapped for a while now as i didnt trust the map that was on the car and wanted to know it was right.
The car before i got to will was very jerky, on light loads and moving around in slow traffic the car was a pain to drive ( it was using alot of fuel and made me look like i couldnt drive with all its jumping around!
So i got to Wills place early last sat morn to crack on with the car. First off will gave the car a good look over then got it up in the air to get the wideband lambda plumbed in,removed my knock sensor as im running hondata and fitted my aem fuel pressure reg and set fuel pressure.
As the time went by all i can say is that i was amazed by his level of attention to detail and knowledge, the conversation was flowing all morning and i learnt alot!! by now i was more than confident i had chose the right tuner!
Once the car was on the floor the laptop was plumbed in and will checked the map before we set off to the rollers (about 3 1/2 hours had past upto now so you can imagine how detailed the workmanship was)
Got to the dyno, the car was strapped down, final checks on the car (apart from my tyre pressures as the bloody valve caps wouldnt come off ) The car was run up and made 175bhp@wheels and 125ft.lb torque.
The car let out a massive cloud of black smoke which was unburnt fuel as it hit vtec and set the fire alarm off in the building so we took a little break while it cleared lol
Once all the crap had cleared will disappeared inside the car and i let him work his magic. Time passed by and i could hear the car sounding better, it was crisper, it sounded responsive, it sounded like a type r engine once more i chose to have a smooth transition to vtec, im not chasing numbers with this car, i wanted a smooth drive with a kick to put a smile on my face when i wanted it! Will was told this and off he went
By the end of the day i ended up with 190bhp@wheels and 135ft.lbs torque he had gained me power all the way up the revs and at points it jumped over 30bhp!! torque was the same with me gaining 30ft.lbs in places and more torque all over the range!!
The car is only describeable as amazing! i gave it gas when i got back on roads i knew and had to hold on for the first time in a while, i was shocked. ive since been on motorways to a few meets and the torque is easily noticeable when putting your foot down! The car is a dream to drive, so smooth on light loads round town and in traffic, i feel repetative but i cant explain the difference!!
So in all i would like to say a massive thanks to Will, easily the best tuner ive ever dealt with and genuinely a nice guy! and to anyone thinking of tuning there honda then get in touch with this guy no matter how big or small your project, he treats the car like his own and ill confidently say he's gonna get the best power out of it!
Now. . .im off driving
