Wow i love seeing these cars in Japan. Cars of this sort of age are getting very rare out there now aren't they. What made you get an ek9? How old are you and do you have to pay a lot for insurance out there.
Thanks for your post, Duncan

Looks nice n clean mate did you buy from an auction bud

When I used to live in America I bought this '00 Civic DX brand new and spent 7 years making it a TYPE R Conversion from the ground up and I still have her in storage. I was in Super Street magazine in 2007. I have been searching for a "real" EK9 for about 4 years but there is only a few here cause you guys imported them all....lol, I'm 31 married and pay 16000 yen($180 USD) for 6 months insurance. Our insurance goes by license plate number, CTR's are 500 plates cause the small engine and light weight. We have a yardsale site called okinawayardsales.com where people sell anything they have, mostly cars and really cheap. Okinawa has a lot of military here so people who like to build cars do so for a few years then leave, sometime with short notice so they have to sell cheap.

Interesting background info about Okinawa mate, lol at the fact that we have imported all of the ek9's

both cars look stunning and the ek9 looks so fresh :nice: How much can you buy a very clean standard 98 EK9 for in Okinawa, we pay anywhere between £5,000 and £7,000 for a clean example in the UK

You might get mad.....lol, I paid $6,000 USD or £3700. She was stock except the mugen exhaust. Perfect interior with super faded paint, no side stickers, faded emblems that were pinkish/silver and had a uncleaned engine bay The engine bay was a bit sticky and the hood and firewall were almost black so I think someone kept spraying it with engine shine:nono:. So I got some car wash stuff, wheel cleaner and some cleaner wax and I waxed her 4 times in-a-row to give the paint some moisture cause I kept seeing dry spots. She runs like a dream too.

Just now ordered Spoon rear strut bar and rear view mirror.

Thanks for the comments

Wow, survivor for sure! Thank you for saving that CTR from doom. Its in good hands now I am sure.

Thank you for sharing!

This is a picture of my hood when I was about half way done. The whole engine bay was covered in this sticky stuff.
