My civic coupe.. WARNING PIC HEAVY!!

Thought I would post a thread up for the car I bought in August 09. Its my first car and wanted one for a long time. After looking for ages this one popped at the right money and bought it the same day it was advertised! Owned by an old dear for most of its life it was still very clean!

Here is the pics of it from the ad:

Originally I wanted a black one but thought this colour was a little rarer and quite nice especially when its polished. Its a 1999 1.6i ls. (Dear insurance as im 18 meant I couldnt get a VTI or even a SR

bought the car on a Friday and by the sunday it looked like this:

96 Spec Integra style wheels
Lowered on Coilovers (I live where there is flat roads so I went as low as I could)
Sprayed chrome strip around the grille Satin black
D16y8 421 manifold

I then fitted my Bride Brix 1.5 that I had waiting for it.. Looks to be in quite bad condition in the pics but theyre just the crappy camera phone pics

After a bit of a detail I went for some Cali style photos in the sun

The I (L) my honda sticker is only there until i get the bumper painted

After a bit of hassle from local police I raised the car a tad and fitted an ek9 front lip.. Yellow calipers didnt last very long!

Painted the insides of the headlights satin black as I dont like chrome!

Bought a set of Work CR10s which I have never seen before, Bought them when they where all corroded and polished them myself.. After a good few hours one turned out like this:

They still didnt look right to me though so lowered it more at the front and rolled the arches to stop them from scrubbing against the arches

After a good detail and having the wheels repolished I brought it to a charity show to show it off abit

I have started painting the interiot black as I hate the grey interiors! The grey carpet has also been replaced with black SIR carpet

DC2 exhaust.. Needs a good clean and im going to ghet the backbox polished.

And Rays light weight wheel nuts

Also bought Honda seat covers to cover up the big grey passenger seat..

Something i have never seen over here aswell USDM Rear lights (the real things not just wiring)

Theyre new aswell so the white half at the bottom hasnt peeled off


I also fitted a d16y8 inlet manifold to it which has increased the power through third and in the next few weeks I will be getting a D16y8 head fitted to it

A lot of work done. Take that rear spoiler off again looks much better imo. Also maybe you should color code it before done much more. I think that is kinda important for looks. Great job tho! Fair play lad

I think they are! i have never seen a set before.. I know of a guy in scotland who has 2 of them and have seen a few for sale in America but none in this fitment!

Im considering colour coding some of it.. I quite like the black as it helps to break it down abit but i think im going to colour code the bumpstrips pretty soon

Easy enough painting the interior i just dont know how long its going to last! Good fun taking all the interior out though!

where did you see it?/ Im guessing at the honda meet? I was over drooling over the 9 in your avatar!

Im never going to sell it atm with the d16 but eventually when im not a student i want to put a B18 or something similar into it! D16y8 is the next step up for me for my first taster of vtec!
