Sadly due to a miss hap with the machining on the bores, the block has lost compression and i am now splitting the engine :((

Not to be too dishartened, i am now K-swapping the car (how original i know). For me this is the best option rather than potentially spending another heap of money to rectify the block and new gaskets and such + trailering costs and tuning blah blah.

already secured some essential "upgrades" which will suit the k20 perfectly

Going to be stupid busy, still hoping to make the Nurburgring with the ferry leaving on the 11th of July :nerv:

Steven

Congratulations on the feature mate sorry to hear about the engine alot of time went into it. What's the plans for the k standard or you going to rebuild it?

standard engine and box

bolt on's with a map

rebuild a standard ep3 box with new synchros and a brand new spoon diff

big radiator

oil cooler

awesome man.. would love to make it there one day!

Just bought this Today. Good read. :nice: Congrats on the feature.

Wonder if the guy with the B20 EK4 in on here?

Awsome car and a great feature!!

Its a pity that you have had to split your B18 but it will be great to have a k20 in there as a replacement

6 speed gearbox will be A LOT better for your journey to the ring and the k20 is a great mordern alternative to a built B18. The bolt-on/mapping potential of the K20 is perfect

Congrats on the feature. Shame about the engine but it must be exciting to be moving onto a k20!

Great feature Steven you were so meticulous with building the engine I hope the k.swap
Goes well and its sorted for the ring looking forward to seeing the progress.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you had Steven, but I'm glad you're not disheartened and are continuing on. :nice:

well done mate, wow cracking edition this month, your 9 chris' b20 and id-workz glanza!

congrats steven :) sorry to hear about the engine but onto bigger and better things :)
