My B20 EK9 (Now 250bhp+)

Any idea why the knock sensor has been removed from your old B16B you gave me.
Tried to work out why the check light was on, identified fault code 23 tried plugging loose plug into empty hole then realised it was not there at all.

Dunx

My Knock sensor was removed when my Hondata s300 ecu was fitted.

From what I understand, my car was mapped with a wideband (more sensitive/accurate) Knock sensor and once mapped correctly there is no need for a knock sensor at all so it can be removed.
Mine is safely stashed away incase i ever want to reinstall the oem ecu. I'm guessing the engine you have was running an s300 ecu or similar.

DNR are building and tuning it.
I've just ordered some 84mm RS Machine pistons as recommended by Daz for the b20 bottom end.
I'll be using my Ek9 head for the rest but thinking about buying some cams too now as I still have 2-3 weeks before I take the car in as they have been Megga busy for months now.

Sounds ace!

That might be what happened Dunx?
But I'm guessing as you know I'm a tech biff!

Yeah, I've spent too much money on this car in the 6 or 7 months i've owned it already. Got a B20 engine ready to be fitted along with Skunk2 Intake mani, Skunk2 throttle body and Spoon 4-2-1 Header.

Already have a Spoon B-pipe and Street Backbox with custom Itg see http://www.ek9.org/forum/air-intake-exhaust/31002-itg-airbox-custom-induction-hose-setup.html . I've not skipped on cheap unproven parts.
To say I'm gagging to go B20 is a massive understatement. :))

Pics not there mate

It's a link Lee, click on it to go to Zen's thread.

Glad the B20 went to someone who will get some real use out of it. :)

Also, if you want to quote more than one person in a single reply then you can click the 'Multi' button on each of the posts you want to quote and then click the 'Quote' button on the last post you want to quote to show them all in one reply.

leeK9... How comes type r got automatic gearbox?

Its to do with the tourque from a B20...
automatic's stay on tourque better and also change faster than human being's, spoon use them on all their B18 and B20's...
Lee is using a custom automatic gearbox it only has 4 gears and it doesn't change until it has bounced of the limiter twice... i think mugen do the same in all their race car's with their k20's..
also lee had great trouble trying to understand how to use the clutch... he just couldn't understand the 3rd pedal.. ???? GO STOP and ??? so lee's tuner thought like all the great tuner's he would install an auto box. i think its loosely based on the CR-Z slush box..

hope this helps.. :nice:

Epic stuff, I'm just wondering why that guy hasn't posted a thank you for explaining it all to him.

Trust me it doesn't need shorter 5th due to the high torque to pull it along.
Dunx

yeah i had 3lb/ft less in my 9 and standard gearbox, i noticed the same. 5th gear was always a surprise with the high torque it pulled harder and harder the higher the revs it got in 5th right up to the redline

You mean to say that your engine made more power the higher you revved it....that can't be right..:nono:

sorry i'm in a take the piss mood. nothing personal
