That was my first dyno run EVER!! Right after i did the swap

dyno2.jpg

then this was my first tune. Which got me no where fast :/

And this was my last tune i did on monday. i was very please with the results!!! 185whp :)

ohh and the specs...B16b with password jdm intake, rmf narrow style header(replica but still awsome), apexi world sport exhaust, h22 injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, arp headstuds and probably more that i dont remember :) comments welcome

Are you shaw that reading is wheel horse power? I've got a skunk cam'ed b18r engine that's pushing out 190whp and 220 at the fly. Have you strocked or cam'ed the b16b?

Actually it sounds a bit on the high side, if it was BHP and not WHP it would sound right. Dyno readings are just numbers though.... Its all about how it drives.

My old B18CR was 184WHP

Those graphs are reading BHP - will be around ~165WHP ish.

Its actually whp. As you can see at
the bottom of the paper that was my sixth pull on the dyno. my pulls went as follows, 156, 159, 163, then they adjusted my timing and added more fuel and thats when the jump in power came. Rvm tuned his b16b with bolt ons and got 176whp and that was with stock injectors i believe. :/ The car pulls great by the way :D

im not critising or anything but how can a lightly modded b16b with a tune make nearly the same power as a b18cr scunk camed engine??

im just a bit confused?
must be bhp surely

And 184.4 HP at 9750rpm on standard internals is dangerous - torque of only 106ft lbs is very low too.

I would bet my anual salary that its BHP and not WHP - with those mods you have listed.

or that american dynos are overreading like **** ahaha

I don't mean to cause a negative discussion but the dyno reads whp not bhp. Was I as surprised as you guys were when I saw the readings, hell yes. But thats what the graph shows. If you look at the powerband it is way better than any of my other readings.

As for that "cammed out b18" who knows the condition/health of your motor, who tuned it, if its been dogged out etc. Every motor is different and as far as skunk 2 cams go they arent the holy grail. I've seen people loose power to only gaining 6whp depending on the tune.

Now what I will personally do is dyno it at another shop to check their readings becuz i cant defend the fact if the current dyno reads high :)

Dan who had the car before me had it tuned by willek9 of the forum. It's running a hondata s300, fuel reg, skunk2 stage2 cams and gears. Was told the engine is strong and pulled hard on the rollers.

Willek9 would know for sure...

Bashing on other peoples engines because they have doubts on a
dyno graph reading is, well....strange?
...dont think that others are thinking that you altered/cheated the
dyno chart, what would be the point? Just trying to make sure we
are understanding it correctly.

Thumbs up on the dyno! I think your idea of a different dyno to find
a base line is a great idea. Once you find one that is giving you
consistent readings your all set for the future dyno days!

Don't even bother its a waist of money, all it is, is a number... It all down to how it drives and what you can beat !

...what was the outside temp reading during the dyno run?
and what elevation is the dyno at?

Well I guess your car isnt the only one that pulled hard on the rollers :D Im pretty sure your torque figures are way higher than mine anyways. Honestly torque is what i wanted and needed and didnt get. So who cares about the hp numbers when im still lacking tq :/

Thnx for the positive comments guys! I dont know the elevation in florida but i do know it was freaking hot the day I tuned :/ Between 89-90 degrees F. Its always hot in florida :(

I agree with the dyno numbers are just numbers but its cool to know hehe :D

End of the day if your happy with the car and it drives well everyones a winner.

WOW,
90 degree Fahrenheit / 32.2 degree Celsius
[dyno early in the morning--:)]
This helps explain your low torque reading on your dyno chart.
But you have larger than stock injectors right? And a CAI correct?

My torque reading actuly wasnt that low at 8500rpm. Its at 117tq. 106 was at a lower rpm rating. :/
Yea i have 295cc injectors off of a H22. I dont hace a CAI but i have a cold air feed why?
