hello again

my ukdm teg has a cat back mongoose exhaust, and a long arm AEM air intake,

i was passed by an ep3 that was so loud it was untrue, i was ashamed to be quieter ( i was just tootling at the time)

how can i make mine louder, will a de cat make much difference? and i know i need a header but i haven’t got the money at the moment

any advice would be great, thanks folks,

Adam

nice one

will the cat make any differance on its own?

any ideas where to get one from, ?

funkypower are quite cheap

last queastion are they easy to change for the MOT?

if you really want it loud, then yes as vtecroadhog suggest a high flow cat/header or even louder a decat/header will add some noise :nice:

thanks guys

i am just addicted to the vtec

i want to get the combination rite and get as much power as i can, the noise is a bi product really

thanks for the advice

adding a high flow cat will be easier to replace for M.O.T as its on / off... however if ur eliminate the cat adding a decat/header [blinx :blinx:] will be even LOUDER!

tho this might end up being too loud!! :nerv:

thamks again bouys

where do i get a header and a high flow cat from ,??

will the hi flow cat pass the mot?

buddy club spec 2 system, then you'll have your loudness then. in vtec mental sound :D

I'm sorry but that is just stupid. if your car is a daily driver, why do you want to make it louder? its going to be a cop-magnet and draw alot of unwanted attention.

i would never modify my car simply to make it louder.

As some people have said, removing the catalitic converter will make your car be extremely loud, and will also allow more flow resulting in a power increase. This in combination of a header, and a crappy exhaust system with a crappy resonator will make your car send shivers down people spine and grind their teeth... they may even chase you around the block with a baseball bat to get revenge on you for blowing out their ear drums... so i would not recomend you going that route strictly because you want your car to be louder.

I myself, if you are more interested in Power then Loudness... would recommend a Hytech header, a renault high-flow catalitic converter, and a Hytech Exhaust. The hytech header has shown the best overall power gains on the market, the renault cat is simply fantastic, and the hytech exhaust allows the biggest ammount of power with the less amount of noise on the market... i personally would rather fly by that EP3 and be faster, have more power, and be quieter then him... rather then simply be loder then him... Function>Form

^^^ im with this set up above ,its gonna be soooooooooooo loudddddddddd

Wow, I agree.:woot:
The only thing is if I were the OP, I would go for a straight through pipe that can be switched for a cat, instead of a full time renault cat. The straight pipe will save a couple HP, and the by-product will be some increased noise. Then when the time comes for emissions (or whatever you have) the staight pipe can be replaced with the cheapest bolt in cat that passes inspection.

as i said before i want to make my car louder but as a secondary to power and performance,

to just be louder is stupid that is why i was asking how to increase power and increase the exhaust note,

your best is a de cat. certain have groves on the inside to make them quieter. the j's racing is just a straight piece of pipe. the buddy club spec 3 is one of the loudest on the market. it also gives great power gains. I have both of these with a 4-1 header (dc sports) on a ek9 and the power is that good i can keep with itr's. its also extremely loud with out the silencer in the exhaust!!!!

geez I can imagine how loud that would be...add a short RAM intake for more noise from the front...bigger cams would help too... :D

i have a itg maaxogen box on the front or what ever they're called. i have a b18c goin in at the moment so it should be even louder again. hahahaha

NICE !

i was talking to someone one on ITR-dc2 forum and he said a supersprit manifold and de-cat, i want to get it all sorted but money is short,

i was going to order 5zigen manifold from nengun but hear they are slow and not brilliant at delivering,

oh well, tyres and service first,
