LCA Bolt Snapped, Advice needed

Right i've cut that captive nut off, the bolt is well seized in there. tried all sorts beating it out aint going to work i don't think.

where do i go from here guys ??.

thanks

What you need to do is drop the top mount and undo the other LCA Bolt.

Drop the Whole arm and shocker together, get it in a press and press the bolt out of the bush.

Drilling wont work as the metal is very hard you will go through a dozen drill bits.

I had to do this with my DC2 was easier as it was the bolt in the bottom of the shocker that had siezed.

Hope This Helps.

Hi mate, So if i undo the 2 nuts on the top mount, the inner lca bolt in theory it still wont come out because that bolt that has snapped is still holding the LCA to the RTA ??

Steve, yeah i've tried drilling its just shredding my expensive drill bits :(

This probably isnt what you want to hear, but when this happened my bros car we ended up getting new LCAs for it,the bolt seizes inside it and will not budge,we had to take the trailing arm,lca and shock out all at the same time as half the bolts were seized or sheared on us,not a nice job

what a nightmare !! all this work for a snapped bolt. right i've managed to split the trailing arm from the lower control arm, now i'm able to remove just the lower arm to have that bush/bolt pressed out.

thanks for all the help and advice guys :nice:
