As above , anybody have them ?

Im wondering how they feel on track as regards spring stiffness as Im looking to do a fair few trackdays this year but dont want to compromise too much on daily driving quality ..

So anyone that has compared them to others let me know :nice:

Anyone ? Even the variant 2 ?

Thought their would be someone with them on an EK , specially the European members .

Suppose to be amazing! My Mate had Variant 1 om his old EK and that handled very well.

Variant 3's are on my wish list.

Reply from KW about the spring rates..

Front ---> 62N/mm ~ 6.3Kg/mm ~ 354Lb/in

Rear ---> 26N/mm ~ 2.6Kg/mm ~ 148Lb/in

Bear in mind both front and rear is a progressive spring .

Pity there is no spring rate option , as I think those rates are just too low for me.

V3 , and AFAIK V2 have the same rates.

You can get conversion kits to run harder springs , but the damping range gets smaller. By then its too much money for a compromised setup.

hmmm very strange. Like i said my mate had 1's on his civic ek4 and that had so little body roll and handled extremly well.

My other mate also ran them on his golf the V2 and again very little body roll.

I wonder how they are so good maybe its not all about the spring rates.

Maybe the compression / rebound adjustment makes up for the lower rate.

Amazing there is so little info about V3's on civic's

Strange... I must admitt the low spring rates would put me off buying them...

How many clicks do the V3 have? Surely the damping wouldn't change that much unless you went for really high rates, and you only had 5 clicks? Any retailer should be able to offer the rates you want with any kit, use an Eibach spring etc?

On the V3 its separate compression / rebound adjustment and I think its 15 settings on each , but not 100% on that.

You bought Cusco Zero2's brand new before Haitch IIRC ? What did you make of them ?

Yes, got a very good price on them new. They come with 9/5 rates, great on the road even on the firm setting, ran them on track for a couple of years until I reached the limits, then fitted some Eibach 10/8 springs on them, very firm on the road but still okay to live with as it was mostly my daily drive, again ran them for a while on track until just now I feel I have reached the limits again, going to leave them on until I have done a couple of events with the cage in, as this will be a different drive again, it will give me a bench mark to choose my next rates.
Overall good quality kit, they have only 5 clicks, as I couldnt be bothered with too much mincing around at the track, easy to feel the difference with each adjustment.

Yeah I like their simple adjustment where you can feel the difference rather than fumbling between 30+ settings to which you might use only 4.

Do you feel the damping is still good with the higher rates compared to the 9/5 ?

Yes you can feel the adjustment exactly the same, no change for me.

I see they offer optional rates too on the Cusco site.

Would you mind pm'ing me what you paid at the time , Id like to compare to the prices :nice:

Just to edit my previous post , front and rear springs on the KW V3's are progressive.

Hi Lads,

its been a while since iv been on here but looks like im gonna be back in action soon :),

With the progressive spring isnt it as the spring gets compressed the "lighter" closer coils on the top compress, and when they fully touch ie on a hard cornering manoeuvre they become even stiffer, so just wandering are they the rates fully compressed?

I had a set of KW's on my ek and they were amazing, getting an ek again soon and i'm thinking either KW again or Ohlins...

hope this helps a little

JP

One thing I forgot to ask them but as far as know it is measured at the first 10mm of spring compression.

The progressive coil over damper is pretty unique to KW

What variant did you have on your car ? Did you track it ?

I'm not sure to be honest lad, but they were wicked no complaints at all and mine weren't the newest, yes i did track it also, she was very low, alot of negative camber front and rear, put camber adjusters on the front which helped with tyre wear and didn't affect handling. what else you got in mind, what do you think of the buddy club ones? my mate races in the civic cup could see what he makes of them!
