Actually they are both made by the same manufacturer with d2 being the better "quality" one. But if you ask me they are both crap.

x2 they're what i would go for if i was to get coilovers

i have used the both of this suspension and i never had any problem with them most of the people that say there not probly never had them on there car is from what people say obviously you rate what you have it depend on what your fund is d2 and k.sport are good in my opionion not just because i have them.

I would go for D2's, though i believe Ksport and D2 racing are made by the same company...could be wrong though...but i think D2's have the better rep...and are widely used, must be a reason for that...

D2's are what I was going to get, only i lost the bid on ebay and picked up a set of race spec HKS coilies instead for under £400...result:))

MeisterR's and Hond-R coilovers have been recommended to me by friends, my mate got his off Hond-R for £550 i think new

i have the new d2 coilovers and there great no problems at all. d2 has a bad rep with some people because of there older version of d2 as they leaked and burst alot but with the new ones thats not the case as mine are a year old now and a few of my mates has them one for over 2 years and his was in a crash an there still spot on.

Everyone i know say Tein are really soft

It depends on which Tein you are going for.
Most people go for SuperStreet as they are cheap... but the problem is that they are single perch design coilovers with twin-tube dampers...
So for the price Tein charge, it isn't really value for money.

What you have to look at is not only springs rate, but also damper valving rate.
Having very soft springs with ultra hard dampers valving will still provide a harsh and unbearable ride over rough roads...

Everyone i know say Tein are really soft

Correct! I have a Spoon damper and spring combo on my 9 and the it's the rear spring rates that really let Teins down. The spoon springs are harder than even the Type Flex Teins. They sink in under hard cornering and give really poor feedback resulting in no oversteer element at all.

As I know it most coiley kits don't have the Spoon spring rates on the rear but I'm thinking that it's safer to understeer than over being the reason? This is why despite wanting to lower my ride height I have stuck with my Spoons for so long.

If you're on track (Or just wanting a more hardcore spirited drive) and just missing the ideal slip angle by that one little bit it's VERY annoying. Plus the Spoon kit is progressive and dam good for every day use AND track :D

The Apex'i N1 ExV's are the best of the D2 /Ksport styled coilover sets. I haven't had an issue with them yet. It even comes with boots to cover the shock seals and the shock "rod" up to the upper mounting piece. I have no experience with either of the two the OP is asking about but I do know that Apex'i, while being a bit more expensive, has had no reliability issues since I've had them....approx 6 months now.
