K20 ek9 how much faster

Hi
There seems to be a few ek20 around how much faster is a ek20 than say a k20 car from factory dc5 or ep3 obliviously its down to power to weight but how much is the difference to warrant the cost
 
well, an EK9 is a good, say 200kg roughly? Lighter than an EP3.

Imagine driving your ek9... now imagine driving it with 3 people in the back.
Simple.
 
Quarter Mile Times:

B16B EK 14.9-15.5

B18C EK 14.1-14.5

K20 EK 13.3-13.8

Sadly I cant recall terminal speed examples but this is a rough comparison of pace upto say 105mph.

Its also not just down to weight an EP3 has 197bhp and 142lbs ft standard.

A Kswap car is going to have (unless your crap and do a budget swap) a good exhaust manifold, kswap intake, normally RBC or RRC inlet manifold 2.5-3 inch exhaust and KPRO making it 230-250bhp 160-170lbs ft normally.

I am basing all of my times on crail dragstrip haha.

A good example I think of the pace of a K20EK is that JRSC EP3's seem to run about the same or slightly slower times than K20EK (>13.5) which is obviously fast. The JRSC EP3 will probably edge out the lead over 110/120mph though.
 
alot faster take it that the car has smaller wheels and is also lighter therefore it will accelerate alot faster also i raced a very fast ep3 that not one other ep3 has been able to beat and even with a stock ecu i was still able to pull 10 + cars !
 
People don't realise the difference until they've actually been in a k swapped car, when thinking about how fast it must be you shoudnt even bring a ep3 into it IMO unless it's got a Jackson strapped to it.
 
Short vid from Silverstone here, lots of traffic but you can see the pace of my Kswap (235) versus 3 stripped out Jackson supercharged EP3's in between the busy moments, one of the silver ones is running 350, the other silver and red running 300, Silverstone has a very long straight, and the EP's are not too shabby in the twistys either :nice:
