J's Racing Headers

Next step is either Spoon drop in filter with stock box or J's Racing type Carbon intake... Suggestions?

@ last i fitted my Mugen intake... noise level is good (not too loud) intake funnel is kept enclosed in Mugen box drawing no hot air frm upgraded header... :win:

currently hve Spoon cat, b-pipe & back box (street type) with a Mugen 'style' 4-1 header that i cant wait to replace... fine on the high cams but total crap on the low revs... i use my car lots in town :(

i am looking @ the 5Zigen 4-2-1 or previously mentioned on this site (Kim Ken) 'Vibrant Header'... tho hve a budget to stick to!

Jugbugz the teg type r jdm 4-1 header is supposed to be very good it's got smaller diameter primary pipes than an after market 4-1 header ,so you dont lose that much low to mid power but with it still being a 4-1 configuration it still makes good power high up the rev range mate .Also i'll put up a full report once i get the j's manifold 4-2-1 fitted and dyno sheets off when i had the d-c 4-1 manifold on then get it dynoed again at the same dyno with the j's 4-2-1 fitted to compare that graph's

Yes, I heard it being almost unbeatable in making power and most highly tuned B-series stick to that header, only prob is that it is hard to find. I think I have access to 2-3 of these.

Also the design of the headers don't hang that low like aftermarket 4-1 headers. The weight however, is double of an aftermarket SS header. I'm still weighing out if it would be worth it or not? What do you think?

Well i weighed it up for sometime as well mate between the 4-1 jdm teg type r manifold and the j's 4-2-1 manifold and i went for the j's in the end because it was a lot lighter than the jdm teg type r 4-1 manifold, but the j's was £480 delivered (8 weeks wait) and the jdm teg type r manifold was £300 (1 week wait direct from honda) but i was just so curious to see what the quality of the j's was like and how it performed ,if i did'nt/could'nt get hold of the j's the jdm teg type r manifold is the one i would have went for next :nice:

480? and 300? what the? So expensive...

Well let us know how it goes comparing it with the DC. I've already ordered and paid for it so I can still sell it off brand new and get the JDM type R 4-1 locally 2nd hand. But will have to wait for the results between 4-1 and 4-2-1

Toda did mention their 4-2-1 headers produce 15% more torque than their own 4-1 headers with only 1.5% loss at top end. Hytech headers outperformed todas results everywhere but for an extra $300 ($1300USD)

in the uk £480 is a very good price for j's mate its supposed to be retailing in the uk fo £520 ! ,a 4-2-1 toda for the b16b in the uk retails for £990 !!

LMAO!!! should've asked me... I can get toda for about 90000yen. :nice:

Whooooo j's manifold arrives at my door tomorrow ,i'll try and get it fitted asap ,im just not sure whether to heat wrap it or not, it will lower under bonnet temperatures but it might spoil the look of the stainless steel ?

Got it today:), the quality is awesome and it has come complete with manifold gasket and a 2.5'' collector ring gasket as well i'll take photos before fitting ,during fitting and after and i'll also do a write up after iv'e drove my ek9 with it on for the first time hoping for slightly better torque below vtec and also better ground cleareance than my 4-1 manifold what i currently run

Just a few teaser pics there for the moment, fitted header today so pics of it fitted and write up are to follow as i havent drove the ek9 enough to tell any difference yet

Before fitting

fitted and starting to turn a nice gold colour

Now iv'e had the chance to have a decent run out in the ek9 with the J's racing header fitted the difference is noticable(i previously had a d-c sports 4-1 2.5'' race header fitted )it is much more torquey befor vtec now with the J's header fitted and still pulls very hard to the redline,i have also noticed the engine now revs much smoother into vtec when before with the d-c 4-1 the engine was like nothing nothing bang VTEC

The quality of welding is very very good on both the pipework and the flanges and it's high polished finish is awesome the fit was first class as well
