Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

Looks like fun^^

The R32 Skyline in the vid is such a cool looking car, I had an r32 gtst track car but really missed having a Honda track car so I sold it and bought the DC2.... looking back I should have kept it and saved for a while to buy the Honda

Who's the expert in the passenger seat lol

What tyre pressures were you going out with that day? Did you try lowering them to help with cold grip? Also softening the rear or even dissconnecting the rear ARB would stop the back sliding as much. are you running tow out at the back at all?

With a wider front tyre you will also make the car rotate

Expert was a racer I'd met on the day, tbf I was alittle faster with her in the passenger seat.
Dampers where setting 2 of 5 on the rear so soft already.
Lowered the front and rear tyre pressures but little luck at all.
Measured the toe on the rear with a buddies gauges and I've got 30minutes toe in believe it or not lol
I'd set the alignment roughly using string method so wanted to check what it was incase it was toeing out like you mentioned.

How does your new steering wheel compare to your old oem ek9 one? My car came with a small nardi wheel so never experienced oem wheel. When youre cornering with your car what do you feel any understeer or oversteer?

I've got the wheel closer to me than the stock wheel, I feel this has helped give me more leverage against it than the stock wheel.
Since removing the pas I can feel everything. Oversteer is surprisingly obvious through the wheel and as you can see, I can clearly tell when it's coming.

With my car im running d2 coilovers, im hoping to change these for bc racing in the future. On the road and track with my car there is zero understeer, the car just pulls you into every corner. However the rear end feels twitchy, doesnt feel connected to the front as theres so much grip on the front. The only way to keep it stable is give it more throttle and trust it, then it just eats up the road like a go kart.
I always thought maybe my suspension needs sorting however ive noticed on here all the ek9's have this same characteristic. Is this generally how they are or do i really need to look into my suspension?

Jesse888 great footage!
Car is running great fair play man ,
Track is not optimum but you made good use of it,
Car feedback must be very good cos she never
Caught you out well done and good driving.
Love to see more some day ,
Car is a credit to you , ye have her just right
And looks like you had lots of fun.
All the best lee.

One of the best threads on here with your ups and downs
And how far you have come since first post ,
Thanks for sharing jesse .

That omp dish wheel look very comfortable,
I had the normal omp suede wheel and it felt really nice
In the hand ,
Good grip from them .

I have the nardi signature wheel love the feel of it on the road its perfect. However full lock is a pain when parking, three point turn turns into a six point turn lol.

This can be dialed out somewhat but they do come with a large rear anti roll bar and aren't particularly heavy at the rear. This combo, like the dc2, leads to a neutral setup out the box.
I find pulling a couple psi out the rear tyres(hot pressure) generally kills a fair chunk of oversteer.

Lots of love from you guys ATM, much appreciated. It's been a battle and I feel I'm finally reaping the rewards of the work gone into it now.
Engines around 2300 miles now and no problems what's ever.

Ive had my alignment done tracking, camber, toe, new tyres etc and only made a small difference. However ive always ran 33psi front and rear tyres according to whats printed on my tyres. Thanks for the tip will play around with tyre pressure next time i go track.

Yeah I never run that high hot. ESP the rear.

You say you had it all set up. What where the settings you had?

Cant remember at the top of my head pal, the sheet is in my glovebox and the car is tucked away for winter, Will have to dig it out.

Normally in the wet/damp weather at trackdays I upped my tyre pressures at the rear. allows the tyre to heat up more.
1st couple laps are abit sketchy but after then its fine.
Will need to watch the rest of the video later on.
At least its still holding together this time, now to wait on the good weather rolling in and enjoy the car this year!

I get pretty bad oversteer in the warm/dry with too high rear pressure so tried to apply the same to the damp/cold.
I'll try more pressure next time and see how it goes though.
Yeah I'm pleased it's holding together.

Got two pics from brands, these are msv photography photos, still not downloaded my brothers pics yet.

With all the sideways action I had to get caught on camera really.

And a nice one down the back straight.

Another update.
Ordered some acw polycarbonate Windows awhile back.
Both sides complete with lockable sliders for both drivers and passenger Windows.
Now I wanted the thermoformed Windows because I fear these flat ones may look abit shitty, but I couldn't pay like £450 for 4 sheets of bent plastic, so paid half that for 4 flat sheets instead lol
Surprisingly heavy when you pick them all up at once, this can't be a bad thing if the glass weighs x2 that the plastics do...
Also means I can do away with the window motor and mechanisms for more lightweights, anyone know how much weight you can gut from an EK9 door?

Hoping to have another update Monday!
