What a waste of a decent car.
It has been metioned before but, it does seem quite pathetic that another EK9 is destroyed just because someone was to lazy to fix a few faults to get it through MOT.
You could have easily sold it on for a fair price. But instead you would rather destroy it in the off chance of making your money back.
Sorry to sound bitter but this sort of thing sickens me.
I like to dabble in buying and selling cars, it's always cars I'm interested in, I usually run them a few months, enjoy them for a bit then shift them on for a profit. I usually buy car's needing engine work.
With that in mind, I always price my cars up so if things don't go as planned, I can break them up for parts and get my money back. Usually I don't need to do that, but it's always an option.
I bought this car blind from Ireland, I took a gamble, usually they pay off for me, that said, I always look at the cars I'm going to buy 1st. Lesson learnt on that front. I assumed a car that just passed an NCT over there would be in decent shape when actually it was a bag of nails.
If i'd had my thinking hat on I'd have scrapped it right from the beginning rather than tried to put it through an MOT. That's the biggest regret I have. I found it addictive driving it and wanted to run it for 6 months or so. Let me heart rule my head.
For the record, I did all the work for the MOT, the garage I went to messed me about no end and got my back up (went on holiday without saying so I couldn't go back for the re-test, had a bad attitude towards the car because they don't like modified cars, their emissions machine broke, etc). By this point, i'd already decided it wasn't going to be worth paying the money to register it as the car needed too much post MOT work done (they hadn't noticed the bottom ball joint was shot, engine mounts spilt, etc)
