ITR intake manifold? or not?

Lo all

pls excuse the short story before my question, i will get to the point in the end :D

Ive been having some problems with my little 6b since i installed it into my eg with a very very high idle (like 2K all the time) - however the last week it went nuts on me throwing error codes all over the place etc and the ecu going into safe mode and no vtec :(

Anyway got it down to dodgy fuel + a code 7 throttle position sensor, now i happen to carry alot of spare honda bits in my garage (i cant bring myself to throw stuff away and always buy random box's of parts) so dug out a 'random' spare t/b i had spare to swap the tps's over.

Anyway long story short once i got my std 6b t/b off and next to my 'spare' it turns out my "spare" throttle body is an ITR t/b (67mm diam intake :D i measured it against my mates t/b on his b18c eg) so ive changed the entire thing onto my 6b and hey presto car now runs sweet as anything perfect idle etc.... yay!

Anyway my point is now that the 6b std intake manifold has a smaller diam opening to it than the itr t/b has after the butterfly - so ive got a "step" if you see my meaning.

Would it be worth fitting an itr intake manifold as well? as then i would have itr full air box/t/n and intake manifold :)

Just wondered if it would be worth while before i go spashing out £100 or more on one, or maybe i would do better getting my 6b intake 'bored out' to match the t/b ?

Thanks in advance

hmmm, i don't know if there will be much difference... B16B was made after B18C. They would have made it same if it was better suited... sorry I can't help...

CTR and ITR have the same intake manifold, if your concerned about the "step" take a rotary tool and bore it out to match the TB outlet.

also ITR tb is not 67 so the one you have may have been modded or may be aftermarket.

glad your problem is fixed though.
