Have air con in my sir, do I really need it? It makes my engine bay look more packed and from what I heard the whole thing weighs about 5kg!? Should I consider taking it out or leave it in? I live in Ireland so 1) it's too cold anyway the even consider turning it on, and 2) the cost of petrol is thru the roof do even if I did turn it on it would cost me 20€ each time :)

Is there a lot involved in taking it out?? From what I've read u need some sort of new fan belt, is this right?!?

I think you have answerred your own question in 2 points lol.
1. its too cold in this country to warrant it for some freak weather days. on which lower your windows lol.
2. petrol cost's is a good reason, especaiily when you factor in VTEC.. Lmao.

As for removal there are a few threads on here that show how to take it out. have a search for it dude. :nice:

Take it out if you want, will save weight. But if you want to save weight pull everything you don't need out, not just the A/C as that would be pointless.

Removing it isn't too much of a trouble

Ha yeah the windows work so they do act as air conditioning alrite :)

Should I keep it in case someone needs it when i sell the car, or try sell it or just bin it?

Yeah I've taken out the spare tyre and got a light weight flywheel, I'm not necessarily trying to lighten the car fr performance or anything, just have absolute no use for air con so probably no point in having it there

remove it watch the girls in your car strip down cause the too hot lol

Your lighter flywheel is more for engine response instead of lowering the weight :)

Think the whole aircon kit weighs more than 5 kilos.. i think IIRC it weighs 15.5 kg's without the fluid :D
i started by taking out my spare tire and jack... now i have nothing but bare shell from the front seats backwards.. it gets addictive lol.

15kgS???? That's comin straight out! At least if I get any fatter I know my car won't be any slower :)

Thanks for the replies lads, but is there anyone who knows if I need some sort of other fan belt to take it out?

Get it out man. I took mine out, weighed i think 18/19kg. Remember a guy (think on this site) putting his removed a/c on some scales. No need for it really plus free's up the engine slightly.

I would say having A/C on the car holds some selling value too? A car that hasn't been tampered with will likely sell quicker / gather more interest than a modded stripped out version.

get it out :p the guide on here is very good :nice:

I recomend going behind the dash too get it all out.....just get some polymorph as it says and bung the holes :run:

personally I would go for it. you may think that 18kg isnt much but because it sits outside the wheel base it makes a big difference. I'll certainly be taking mine out as soon as I've got time to do it.

take it out, for windows in the winter just turn the car on 5 mins before you leave :) get the blowers on jobs a good en!

Just worried will it devalue the car?! Always wanted a car with air con, now i got one with it I want it out, ha!

Are they of value to anyone, worth selling like?

Does anyone know if you need a different fan belt for it thou?!

If your really worried about it keep the stuff and have it put back in before you sell it. a/c parts are bloody expensive from honda so you may be able to sell it on if you wanted to.
