First off its a 96 spec jdm itr.

So I had a mechanic friend over to replace my clutch. Clutch is fine now... but I'm leaking tranny fluid from one of the pink spots shown in the pics below...

On the green spot, is that supposed to hold MTF? because there is a split in the folds of that rubber thing. ^^^

The underside of the car was drenched in MTF when I jacked it up after a 10 mile drive yesterday.
Today I topped it up(full) with 500ml of MTF.

Whats wrong? Do I need new seals? :?
If it is the seals I need I can't figure out which part it is on these diagrams...

Also. does over filling it blow the seals? Causing it to leak...? :S

most likeley leaking from the drive shaft seal(No 9 first diagram), probably got damaged by the spline on the end of the shaft when removing and re fitting the box.
the bit in the second pic with the green dot is a dust cover and has holes in it anyway,it has an oil seal underneath it which is part 17 in the fifth diagram.
the other thing in your pics is part of the gear linkage an would not leak oil.

Thanks Mini!!!
Just to clear things up, wouldn't it be the intermediate shaft that its leaking from?

yes thats rite, looks like you had a bit of trouble getting it to line up? see a few scratch marks on the casing around it. probably split the seal, its easily done.

Is it easy yeah?... I was just thinking of taking it to a local garage and get them to do it. As I have almost given up..... :/

if you have a pit or a ramp its easy, you need to drain your mtf, remove the intermediate shaft from the box, carefully prize out the old seal, put the new seal in place, use a small hammer and a large socket, on the face of the seal to tap it in to place(dont hit the seal directly with the hammer), make sure it goes in straight and sits flush or the same as the old one.
