Hi all

I've always had any Type R I've owned in the last 10 years in Champ White because in my mind that is the iconic colour scheme, I'm sure most of you would agree?

The other day I was at the body shop getting some quotes for some minor works on the 9 and thought if I had to have a full respray what other colour would I choose?

I came to the conclusion it maybe Bayside Blue, Matt black, Saffron yellow or something along those lines. Hulk Green also crossed my mind when I went a bit crazy :(

Out of interest, What would you have (for those that have a Champ white car)???

I was thinking this exact same question actually. I've seen loads of red FN2's about and wondered what the appeal was? It's personal opinion of course, but I would much prefer a CW one. I guess Black would be my next choice, although carbon goodies don't show up quite as well next to black ;)

The hardest thing would be to choose a colour outside of the OEM colours that still go well with the black and red interior scheme.

I can consider red actually, as carbon and black or gold items look so good with that colour.............hmmmm

Yes it's all personal preference, but just trying to think out of the box and wondered what other members' taste would be?

spoon blue.. gorgeous color and i remember someone on here having there type R done in it :D

i've always like red ek's but the one colour i went and got samples of was lp2 midnight purple, i sprayed a bonnet to test the colour before doing the whole car in case i didnt like it but in the end i re-sprayed the car in the original cw as clean ek9's are getting hard to find. a friend of mine done his dc2 in lp2 and it looks well but im still glad i kept the oem colour. But if i was to build and spray a track ek, it would be between red, gunmetal grey or midnight.

There is a colour called Moonrock Grey (I think that's the name)

That's the most acceptable colour I think, especially with the interior colour scheme.

Always liked the idea of Milano Red on my EK9, because the rest of the type-r range came in it, think it would be unique and still keeping with oem colour. Thought about it before but would need to be a full shell respray, just not got the time or space to take it back to a bare shell

Well mine won't be champ white in a couple of months I know that.

Personally I think it's a really bad move painting a type r in non factory colours....

Having said that I do like this

I agree Ian, people would be less precious if it was a normal EK. But a Type R...... its hard to think beyond the OEM colours especially Champ White

Thats it! Milano Red...(not that im going to spray my 9)......wonder why it never came in that colour? saying that i didn't like Red ITR's probably because it came with a full black interior.

McLaren Orange would be my choice. Might even do it myself one day.
