hey guy i posted up a wee while back saying i was saving to turbo ma 9 but due to ma wife starting up her own business not going down the turbo route anymore so this is what am needing ideas on a have about £3000 to spend on the car i already have coilovers on the car and the handeling is fine so the £3000 could be spent on the engine just need ideas on what to buy and prices? the car already has a Feel’s Manifold and i think its the Feel’s B-Pipe with Kakimoto backbox thanks for any ideas or info given guys:)

Maybe buying a B18C integra type r engine could be a option for you. Or you could do alot of head work i.e bigger cam shafts, uprated valves etc. I would probably go the engine swap route if you think about it the b18c is producing around 200hp as standard:D

Full race Spoon build / swap.

Thats my opinion. Just depends what your after.

Savage top speeds or silly quick acceleration. Or both!

You'l get the same answers from many people though...gearing change!

And although £3k is a fair amount of money, I think you will find it hard to get anything that majorly changes the car without a turbo or supercharger.

You will get some very tasty and decent modification though.;)

was thinking about the b18c but was wanting to just tune the b16 but not sure what to do really need ideas on what to do

I just think for what your gonna have to spend on your B16 to make alot of power especially since your keeping it NA I would see the b18c as a better starting point and with simple mods like exhaust and intake you could get over the 200hp easy.
Another option would be to carry out a Frankenstein conversion! Its where they take a 2ltr bottom end from say a honda crv jeep and use your B16B head. There is a guy not far from my home house who has done this conversion and he claims to be making 260 at the wheels but he has other bits done to the engine also and his car is known to beat evo's and impreza's. I am considering this conversion in the summer for my EK9 would be nice to have that much power and torque also:D

spoon=overpriced!!

i would start with an MF 4.9 final drive :naughty: then cams/springs/retianers and a good ecu upgrade and tune.

whats sort of price would i be looking at for MF 4.9 final drive cams/springs/retianers and a good ecu upgrade cheers

i dont see the point in the b18c trancplant as an ek9 will sit almost side by side with it. and a tuned 200bhp is always much better than a standard 200bhp. a 200bhp ek9 would be faster than the standard b18c. i would go for cams,some head work,gear set and final drive. inlet mani to

mfactory 4.9 and camshaft kit (with cam, titanium retainers and valve prings)
price sent:nice: could also try get you used or new spoon ecu from japan

The b20 convesion (frankenstien) adds serious torque aswell as hp. Not very pricey either. There are two crv engines, the b20z (i think) is the better of the two. i think there is a big thread on the hondatech website about this conversion

Don't forget that your gear ratios will be too short for a daily driven car. You can get a 4.78 FD which suits better on highways :nice:
