Iv asked this question on other sites and never gout any answers, so i want to give it one more shot.
The pic you are looking at shows a plate my brother is grinding ( a nut broke so had to grind the rest down)...My question is, do i need to keep this plate on, or can i remove it. Dos anyone think it help with my structure of the car?
Keep in mind its a U.S car and not a JDM, i dont know if the JDM have this same plate.

In the UK.
The facelift EK had them
The Prefacelift did not

Now, when you say facelift......do you mean 99-00
And prefacelift 96-98?
I just want to make sure.

i'm sure that it makes the chassis quite a bit stiffer, plus it helps to keep the chassis from crumpling in a side impact. EK9's don't have this brace but they do have some seam welding to keep the chassis stiff. I would keep it unless your building a drag car. It's three pieces I might add.

no my old 96 hatch didn't have it! it's more like a extra not a must
