Hi there,
after i actually have mounted some nice hydraulic hood-openers, im wondering how i can get rid of the genuine Hood rod.? has anyone removed this before? didn't find any answers in the service manual.

i don't need it anymore at the moment and want to clean up the engine bay a little so i'd like to get rid of that hood rod holding the bonnet up when no hydraulic bonnet dampers are used.

thanks for your help already, apreciate it :)

can I have your hood rod clip? The clip that hold the rod when the hood is down?

Twist it 180 and wiggle untill it comes out! You will need to loosen the fusebox bolts to give yourself enough room!

thanks mate, but i might be a little dumb :)

do i need to twist it when it's in the "down" or in the up position and into which direction? clockwise or counterclockwise?

probably i might try it on my daily civic before i try this on my beauty :p

oh and btw: thanks for your help and input guys so far.. if you can explain me a bit more detailed would be great :p

so i just hammer it out at the bottom end? is it just plugged in? thaught it might be like a hook on the opposite side or something?

It was a joke man. Erm...I've done this once before (when someone tried to close my bonnet thinking it was on hydraulic lifters - fool) bubt I can't remember how I did it. If you wait till I get home form work (about 2-3 hours) I'll do a step by step with pics :)
