Hey all,

Based on opinion and usage, what do you believe to be a better system to use on the EK9?

Basic engine mods to start with, so Manifold, decat, Centre section (B pipe) & back box & Intake of some sort.

I am personally swayed towards the Apex-i Power FC myself, but just want to get some other opinions from you guys 1st.

I wanted the Spoon ECU a while back, but think I would benefit more from a separate system, rather than just changing my ECU for a pre-programed one.

So let me know what you think.

(Move this if you feel it is in teh wrong section too. Sorry ;))

Same question I had to ask my self when I started thinking about mods. Unfortunately, because not all ECUs can handle the same modifications, you will have to know more or less in advance what kind of mods you are gonna make......
You say about basic mods for now.....so you are not sure if something else will be done. So I suggest get what you already have in mind(Power FC) which can handle A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G in its path.....However, because is not that cheap, if you are gonna stick to the basic mods, then you are spending more money for nothing. That's my opinion! :nice:

honestly im not a hondata fan, but hondata does have more features than power FC, and you all know i personally run AEM EMS, but i digress. at the end of the day, the best EMS is the one your tuner is most comfortable with, check with all the local tuners, see which one they tune most, you dont want to be stuck with an ems only 1 person can tune, or even worse, something no one can tune!

Indeed.

There is a guy I know local who can tune the Power FC and I don't mind travelling far if I have to to get it sorted properly.

As for further mods...LOL...A fully built Spoon engine is what I want at a later date, but that is a far bit of cash.

May change head internals at a point too, so I would need a system that can adapt, rather than changing / remapping the ECU.

Any other suggestions to them other than Apex-i Power FC and AEM EMS...

greddy ultimate is very good,i used greddy management on a past car and found it excellent,i have a power fc in the backseat of my ek9 for the ek9 BUT i am currently running a spoon sports ecu because the spoon ecu imo is more benefical to the mods i have at the moment, but my mate is looking for the spoon ecu back when/if he repairs his crashed ek9

as blinx said and its the most important thing to be said about any management system --- an ecu is only as good as the tuner

Indeed.

See I wanted the Spoon ECU, but for the price of one, I may as well just get the Power FC.

I will have to have a good think about it when the time comes and decided then!

Or save lots and buy 2 EK9's! LOL

For me, no Power FC... reason of that are no one know how to tune it in my city ...
and Power FC is a very Old product...

I am using Hondata S300 on my civic and looking forward to get a E-Manage need to save up first...haha:nice:

Hondata more popular and widely used. More powerful than PFC but the main thing is the tuner.

why would you buy emanage? S300 is A LOT more powerful than emanage. emanage ultimate is a little better but S300 is still better than emanage ultimate.

I have a apexi power fc because my tuner recommend me one, when my motor was stock (only bolt ons, header, intake) he was able to gain 9whp just by tuning it! :) The apexi power fc tune in my opinion is very complicated, if you don't know what you're doing you can loose hp or put your motor in danger of blowin up!

This is not a con of the Power FC exclusively though, but what will happen with every ECU not tuned properly....:)

you can say that about any form of ems...
