Hello guys.

I have googled this all day and plenty of people reporting the same issue but no proper conclusion resolved.

My car is on the dyno and it has a calibration loaded that runs and idles beautifully but won't Rev passed 2500rpm. To give a background on the situation, I have fun the car on this setup mapped on the same ECU before but not after a recent engine build and ITB's. We have built a new map from a base map off the Hondata site. As I say, it runs great at idle but no revs. Makes a soft cut noise, kind of like the launch control bounce... No faults in ECU, almost seems like a hidden parameter we've missed.

Can anybody comment? Any replies and comments would be massively appreciated!!!

Are all the things like injector circuit, knock sensor rtc turned off?

I believe so, but will double check. Thanks.

We've trouble shot wiring last night and there appears to be no bad earths. Got to be an ecu based error.

Has anyone heard of their Hondata S300 board packing up? I can't see that it would be dead as it makes changes and runs great at low rpm. It just seems like the ecu blocks every now and then and didn't know if that was a symptom of a fault.

Coolant temp, I don't think so, but worth a shout. Anything is worth a shout at this point as we are fast running out of ideas before it comes off the dyno. Fml. :-\

I had similar issues when I wired mine up and it was stuff that was on the usdm ecu that wasnt on the jdm p30 I have. - Baro sensor etc.

Must admit, our new calibration is based from a base map downloaded from Hondata. I wondered if there would be a difference between say P28 (like mine) to P30 ECU or OBD0 and OBD1? Just a thought.

Anymore takers? Still having the same issue after much checking and changing.

Another gremlin that now occurs is that the car sits at idle good as gold and then after 40 seconds or so, just dies. Fuel pressure on aim dash constant and doesn't budge.

If I remember correctly I had a similar issue when I fitted my B18, drove ok at low revs but couldn't go a over 3k. That was due to the throttle position sensor, think it was out of calibration iirc

Ahh yes - something else I did was calibrate the tps limits to s300.

Could be cam sensor or crank sensor detecting knock and wont let it rev past that would also it would pull the time out of it to protect itself could be loads of things mate I'd try them first

Only usdm models have a crank sensor, and they only detect position anyway. Knock sensor detects knock.

I've little experince with s300 so just throwing things out there.
Soft cut sound like launch control....
You got launch off? If not perhaps speed sensor is duff leaving the ecu thinking its sitting still? I'd expect the dash to not show a speed though.
Vtec engagement point not set that low? Problem with vtec causes a similar bounce I believe?
Calibrated TPS?
You used the same ecu on the same loom before? No different pin outs from last time you ran it?
