Been offered a set of these and was wondering if they are a worthwhile upgrade to the standard EK9 calipers (did a search but didn't really find a specific answer).

Also would these utilise standard discs, mounts, master cylinder...

utlise all standard parts, nice little upgrade and you feel nnice little improvement on ek9, only disadvantage is added unsprung weight

Legend calipers are a twin pot, one piston is slightly bigger than the other and they will more than likely fit under your ek9 wheels...Good Mod!!!

I run Accord type R calipers...They are Twin pots, bigger pistons and use a 300mm disc therefore ruling out OEM wheels

Running 16's so fitment shouldn't be a prob. Guessing these utilise standard discs and aftermarket pads. You reckon it's a worthwhile upgrade mate?

from what honda legend caliper are you interested ?
year model ?

Unsure of original car's age... all I know is that they're twin pots... lol

GSR? You sure its a twin pot? Only GSR i know of is USDM Integra GSR though I'm sure other markets are different...

Sorry, it's from the GS, the extra "R" was my mistake. I bought my calipers from Fastbrakes and was a huge upgrade for my 97-Vti.

I Dont see why not mate, the calipers cant be that much heavier than stock ones and youl have the extra piston working for you, if you can stretch to it i would HIGHLY recommend the Accord Setup. But if your getting the legend calipers for cheap then i would go for it.

As far as i know they use the same discs and pads :nice:

been wanting to upgrade my vti frpnt brakes, only heard good things about this set up.. u dont want them i keep them! :p

if u fit them, let us know how they do :blinx:

the twin pots you are looking for will come from a 1995 or there about variety.

3.2v6 model these come with twin pot calipers.

Most people compair them to nsx brakes,

piston sizes:

Legend Calipers 42mm and 38mm piston sizes.

NSX Calipers 40mm and 34mm piston sizes.

The piston sizes are infact smaller on the nsx brakes. Ledgend calipers are theoretically capable of exerting greater force onto the rotor. However it is likely that the nsx piston set up will work better under extreme use. There is likely to be very little or no measurable difference in heat disipation between the two as they both run the same rota size but with slightly difference thickness. The differences in mounting are in stock form. The ledgend caliper is mounted on the rear of the disc. And the NSX caliper on the front like all other honda's.

Thus when fitting ledgend calipers to a honda with front mounting points it is a good idea to swap the caliper L to R. This will keep the bleed nipple in the correct location on the caliper. Thus allowing it to be bled properly. However this does mean that the leading piston in the caliper now becomes the trailing piston.

Therortically this is not ideal but i have try and tested both methods with little difference.

Another point to think about is the master cylinder you wish to mate these to. If running a very small stock master cylinder then simple physics will tell you that the piston in your small master cylinder will not be able to displace the required amount of fluid without significantly increasing pedal travel.
