Hey Guys...

Just a quick question that im sure someone will be able to help me with.. After a convo with Ek9Turbo ( Will ) Top Guy !! :nice: There is a question regarding my engine timing.. When my car was being tuned using Hondata on a Dyno-Dynamics Rolling Road the engine was pinking bad under load, my tuner then retarded the timing all the way back on the dizzy and it went away making 238 bhp.. He then explained to me the reason for this is that my engine is making very high compression ????

Im not sure what the ratio is, all I know is that I have 255psi in each cylinder.. Could anyone work that out ??

Cheers - Andy

i'm sure there was a link to a compression ratio calculator on here somewhere:)
i'm no expert, but it seems a bit strange he retarded it right back on the dizzy, would of thought to be pinking so badly the afr must be leaning out ?

he maybe didnt have enough ignition timing to play with - what degrees are your cams sitting on the cam gears?

your tuner seems strange, distributor affects total timing (base timing) and should be set before tuning, once tuning there is no reason to touch the distributor... very strange. In regards to compression , i don't know of anyway to calculate cylinder pressure to compression ratio but if i had to guess just based on experience i would say about 12.5:1+ what pistons do you have?
