Hids legal or not

well most new cars have them so doubt you will ever get pulled because of them, what colour temp have you got and how much you pay for the kit and where from?

i was reading 8thgencivic.com (sumin like that) they were saying that having 8k or more is going to blind people all the time
ill feel bad coz being blinding is a pisstake

12k you will get stopped. Anything over 8k is for non road use iirc.

So off topic dude :nono:
8k is the legal amount in the UK....

Two of my friends have 12k and always get stopped by cops. I had 8k and never got stopped but took them out and went back to OEM 4300k and still no problems from the cops. Don't forget about that the higher the "K" is, doesn't mean that they are brighter. The lower you go on the "K" the brighter the light is, starting from 6k.

i've had a 5000k kit and 6000k bi-xenon kit
both with shielding, have not been flashed by oncoming drivers, or pulled by police, and passed MOT recently with the 6000k kit
imo 12000k is too blue, you wont be able to see much on the road.

The kits we sell are E marked for Europe and DOT for USA. They should pass your MOT no probs. I have had a set on my car for the last couple years and sailed through the MOT with them. I run 8K kit. THe wifes car runs 4300K and hers past no prob either.

As for the higher temps they do lose some of the white light spectrum so they are not as bright. But anything above 8k will cause you to get a little more attention than normal from the cops.

WOOP WOOP. just got my hids fitted on now
they look absolutely mint cant wait to see them tonight
i have a feeeling people wont be liking me
12k are extremely bright lol

All you guys (including the seller) don't have a clue what you are talking about!

Fitting xenon lights into a halogen headlight will just be terrible! a Halogan headlight is designed to reflect/project the light coming from a fillament bulb (which produces light from left to right. Not a xenon bulb, which "arcs" the light from top to bottem!

Plus all kits are illegal, even the 4300k ones, you need headlight washers and auto leveling for the kits to be legal.

you will just be producing loads of glare and blind other road users!

I hate people like you, no concern for anyone else, you just want "cool" looking lights!

Anyway, 4300k bulbs give the most light output @ 3200lms.
6000 k is only 2600lms or so
and as for 8000k, thats only about 2000lm
(a normal halogen bulb produces about 1500-1800lms.)
So whats the point?
12000k! probably worse than halogen!

But you no, youre " look at me, i have xenon lights " attitude is terrible! It isnt producing better light output and is just producing loads and loads of glare!!!!!!!

dont get them they are crap. m ek9 had some wen imported from japan. it had regza 12k HID kit which i have been told are the best. they were alright for the first two weeks then started having trouble. lights cut out when i was doing 60 an nearly crashed, u had to flick them off and on again to get them going. next thing all the bulbs went so bought some more. found out that they dont like wet wheather even though they are ment to be weather proof. think they had special headlamps on my car specially for the HIDs as i have never seen them before and seem to be made for them. HID kit coming straight off to put the originals on.
