Hi there just joined up as im attempting to purchase an EK9 soon and it always helps to get in touch with the owners club beforehand!

just got 1 or 2 questions:

Ive got a budget of £5000, will i pickup a decent ek9 for this money?

Is it (obviously i might get a few bias answers it ;)) better than the DC2 ITR? i know its a matter of personal opinion but whats your opinion?

Are there regular meets held by ek9.org?

Cheers

Chris

Welcome.

You need more than £5000 for a decent one and no they aren't better than DC2's. Both awesome cars, though.

ah, roughly how much am i looking at for one these days?

hmm, its a brilliant decision to have to make, dc2 or ek9....either way i kind of win haha :D

Just another quick one, ive seen loads of JDM ITR's up for 4.5k onwards with reasonably low mileage (60k onwards) are these all dogs to be avoided like the plague?

Cheers

yo and welcome to the site, jdm tegs tend to be cheaper than ek9`s, can get a decent teg for £5000+ but good ek`s tend to be £6000/£6500+
I prefer 9`s but then i would say that lol:D

Seen a few posts on here regarding the age old EK9 vs DC2 debate, but it always seems to come down to 2 major points:

1 - EK9 has better handling

2 - DC2 has more power/torque

The decision was easy for me, as I think the EK9's are rarer here (UK), look better (less dated) & I've come from owning 2 Civics previously, both of which I loved.

It'd be worth driving both if you're still unsure, but for me, my heart was set on an EK9 from the outset :D

Have fun with the decision mate, and welcome to the forum!

hmmm, might be worth saving the extra grand or so then, or just trying to finance the rest or w/e,

yeh was kinda the same reasons i was looking towards an EK9 over DC2, dc2 seems a bit more "serious" (if thats a good wa to describe it lol) but the EK9 just seems timeless and as if itll never get old,

Got till the end of july to decide so its all good! are there any jap car shows coming up soon thatll have a load of em?

Cheers

I think you in the same stage as me mate lol,dc2 or ek9...

oh lol....welcome

haha yeh, its a hard choice, both are realy nice,

then its JDM DC2 or UKDM DC2 or Facelift EK9 or non facelift...

haha either way....you still win!

welcome to the club, and i hope you get the answers your after here?

personally a 6-6.5k budget will get you a really good pre-facelift ek9! but then again you would be looking for that kind of budget for a good DC2!

about the 5k mark will let you get a grade 3 car? which will mean the car is not as clean as it could be!

Still trying to decide here,

got around 7k to play with now at the end of june,

also got to decide between fully comp or tpft,

may seem obvious which to go for but its £3k or £1.8k....:wow:

Oh decisions decisions! lol
