Help Me!

Fix the rust and then think about it again, it might help you make a more balanced decision. If it's done properly, it shouldn't come back as long as you do everything you're meant to like underseal it, cavity wax etc. Frost Auto Restorations is very good for those kind of products if you do choose to keep it and fix the rust.

ek9 anyday
i drive a jordan and i would always pick a ek9
if i had the money i would jump for it hahah

and heres two pics of the rust

mate thats actually **** all  Imy would sort that for you no?

Same places mine has rusted, probably more on the inside of the panel. What would you gain from getting EK9, stiffer from the factory, no sunroof and lighter from the factory. Lot of work to get a standard 9 to that standard.

Exactly my thoughts, an EK9 has nothing on the spec of your jordan.
Plus there is alot more Well looked after EK9's about. Id keeps yours, much rarer.

An what are those last 2 pics??? is that supposed to be rust???

:blabla:

After reading your spec and actually having a deek at the car, Keep it? That arch is ****ing minor! My drivers is just starting to bubble but nothing major...

Get it sorted and then see what u want to do? But once you sort it you will love it again :p

On the outside it looks like minor rust but anyone with experience on restoring Civics knows it could be a disaster on the places you can't see

Economics at Strathyclyde dude, I was doing accounting and finance but my brain couldnt compute it hahaha.

good stuff, some times i wish i went to uni. been thinking about jacking my job in and going.
anyway that rust isnt that bad, but take the back plastic interior pannels out and check how bad the rust is on the inside.

Cant get a scooby/evo man. Im only 20 and dont earn very much while im still a student so insurance and running costs would kill me, plus id rather have an impreza type r aha.

Re shelling is a good idea cos id get to keep all my good bits but means id still have all the rusty suspension arms etc.

ah ok well then yeah probs uninsuarble at that level especially the type 25 (have read up on them and i assure you impreza type r/ra's would never be chosen over them)

the rusty suspension arms etc is a bit of a painful experience to sort out.

basically remove all the old bushes ready for a energy suspension master bushing kit or if you've the money proper spoon bushes or similar then have them shot blasted and painted or powder coated.

having done the bushes myself it's not fun but it's worth it

get it all done at once for the powder coating etc other wise doing a bit at a time ends up costing you a fortune.

obviously it helps if you have another car to use as a dailly if theres no public transport for work etc

yeah the problem there is that the bracket for the bumper rots and becomes weak letting the bumper drop.. fix it and it inevitably gives up the ghost and et voila no bumper bracket.

has that arch had a paint repair previously?? looks like it from the texture of the paint?

Your prob a good comparison, our cars are a pretty similiar spec execpt b18 rather than b20. you never think about selling it for a 9?

lol i have thought about it, thought about reshelling too at one point to one of livvy's shells but ive done loads like you have too, fully braced, caged and b20'd.

I've thought about it, im going to keep mine build it a little more and track it as much as i can.
I didnt think it would be worth all the hassle / monies reshelling, id rather save the monies for my next car whatever it maybe...

You think you have rust lol, you need to take a look at mine!
Mine was supposed to be done now, i booked it in when i went away for 2 weeks but he didnt get round to it and as a daily i dont know when i can get mine done now.

wait till livvy get a black ek9 for breaking and buy the shell.

yeh the cars had a full respray before and the other non rusty arch was replaced fully. theres no real rust on the inside etc. just mainly under the car its bad

cheers everyone for your responses, best forum :nice::nice:

after being out in a few mates cars tonight, including da6mikes/alex8s k20 ek :nerv: decided that i think im going to power on and continue with this car. maybe eventually reshell but for now keep buiding the jordan way i wanted

so next week go into the garage for its MOT, full new brake lines, casing fixed, undersealed, new brake disks etc etc

gonna be expensive but hopefully be worth it :D
