HELP !!! Break my 9 or keep it ??

def b18 it before you make any definate choices. totally transformed my car when i did it

B18 is the way boost is overrated been there done that :)

John

Don't be a homo

You have the car sitting there waiting for the new engine to go in, some lovely new brakes in the boot waiting to go on too

Fit the brakes and engine, track it at Knockhill next year

I garauntee you once you do a couple track days in the car it will return faith in the car. With the extra torque, the S80 box, wilwoods and ohlins, the car will be amazing round there

I've fitted my wilwoods now, well worth it get it done!!!

Think you should keep it john. was shocked when yo told me you were thinking of breaking last night but personally think you should reserve judgment at least till you get the b18 in it and then see how you feel. You will struggle to find another 9 as clean with this sort of spec man.

Well i have decided to keep it and carry out putting the B18 in it . after having my first turbo car . even thought its nothing spectacular i still feel that n/a is far more fun for my style of driving :) . + i just luv the car far to much

Gud lad! As Steven sayes, when it is built up with the new engine/brakes/susp. and you get it round a track you will know why you have made the right choice

Sometimes our cars seem a bit of hassle driving everyday compared to a comfy practical car but when you hit the track or a good b-road it all makes sense:D

When the time comes for me to get a practical car, the ek9 will be kept in the garage for weekend and track use

im in the same boat but i have decided to put mine back to oem and sell i just dont need 4 Honda's/projects and im never at home lol
i do love the itb's and the 9 but time has come and i dont think i will get my asking price with all the parts on it

chuffed your keeping your 9 though looks like a gid yin

You answered this question on your own. "i have loved every minute of it". I live in the States and dont have the luxury of having the EK9 here. But while I was stationed in Japan I drooled all over the 9's there.

it came down to the fact the car is completely mint with just turned 70k has only ever been used between april and september as always off road for winter . i have spent so much time and money on the car on all the aftermarket parts and all the time spent on it that i know i would be stupid to get rid . just bad expiriences this year that had me in doubts but with a proper tune and b18 i can see it being a fun car

What trouble were you having with it John? Your old B16B is singing away merrily in my VTi now, running beautifully! :nice:
