Did an oil change yesterday with a new Hamp filter and Motul 5W-40 I'd left the engine running until the temp gauge leveled out and left it to drain for 20 mins til it was just a slow drip from the plug hole. I poured in 4 litres from the bottle (as per the manual) and checked the dipstick once the car was level and all appeared ok.
I then went for a (fairly hard) drive once everything had warmed up (didn't go over 5k rpm for about 15mins of steady main road driving) and everything seemed ok.
This morning I went out to check the dipstick and it's about 6-7mm over the top dot I've gone back and checked the oil bottle and I must have mis-read the level as there's only about 900ml left.
Is the extra 100ml going to make much of a difference? or do I need to try and drain some off? Or now that I've driven it will it make no difference?
