Gav get back to the gym! All the advice above should motivate you!

Some great advice so far. J888HNT, just checked out a couple of your videos on youtube, they look good bud! training studio looks real good too :)

you can not burn fat in one part of the body, fat can go on in one place but you need to burn it off all over your body unfortunately., you need to run,do incline, sit ups & most important is the diet and drink loads of water, slim down & then start building muscle.

TBH mate I've been a Personal Trainer for 7 years. I train a World Champion Natural Bodybuilders and Professional Athletes in London and I travel the world for work. Everywhere I go people who take these types of supps are usually still big and still trying to lean up. The ones who are lean are the ones who eat a clean diet and train well and get enough SLEEP!! Abs and definition is made in the kitchen and nurtured in the bed. Trust me on this. I KNOW! There is no miracle pill or supplement.

My private studio in London.

If you're ever in London pop by.

:nice:

Great advice:nice:

I have been training for 7 years now. Started by taking weight gainers and put on a couple of stone but at that stage my diet was crap so was bulky all over.

After a year or two I realised that no matter what supps I took I wasnt going to get really lean unless I sorted my diet, even if I did 100's of situp's per day my abs would never come thru.

Cut out the processed crap, eat your greens, keep carbs in the evening to a minimum and you will get there man.

I could go on and on about this subject but im sure people would be bored.............most of my close mates are

Hi guys (apologies to the OP for thread jacking)

Basically I'm looking to start training at my local gym asap, but have had mixed opinions from people so far.

I'm happy with my current build, I simply want to shed my gut, and get ripped.

Initially I was just going to hit the gym, and mainly focus on swimming, cardio and resistance weight training (as I was advised) without any supplements.

However, my mate who I will be training with suggested I take whey protein and [Biorhythm] After Glow as well as doing the above to see good results?

Would this be a good idea, or should I just stick to eating huge amounts of tuna before and after training:D?

Thanks

Whey protein helps muscle recovery as does all protein you say you Wana lose your gut are you wanting to build muscle?
If you jus want to lose your gut forget the whey protein stuck to a healthy diet and train hard if you WANs build muscle use creatine not protein shakes as you get enough protein from fish meats etc and you see faster results with creatine hope this make sense and helps you out if you need out drop me a pm if you like?

Hey mate.
Yeah deffo would like to build muscle and get ripped/toned.
In all fareness, my gut isn't actually that bad, but I really would like to lose it.
A couple of people put me off creatine....bad for your liver??how does it make you get results quicker opposed to using protein?

Thanks again:)

Try some kre-alkalyn by Vyomax tablet form and no loading cycling needed. It works straight to the muscle just drink loads of water. Superpump 250 is a very good pre workout drink take 2 scoops max, gives you a good pump plus energy boost.

D'janiero - how old are you?
depending on your age... the training you do should be slightly different. As well as any supps you are considering.

But the basic formula you need to get right.. regardless of your goals. Is plenty of Sleep (utmost important), correct diet - balance of good carbs (stay away from breads, chocs and general ****), high protein diet and essential fats.
and then workout, allowing for adequate rest between gym sessions, at least 24hours rest per muscle group.

bumping this up, looking to improve my core and back strength anyone any good suggestions? I'm currently 6'1" and 17st and looking to get into shape and loose MA BELLY! Looking to do the Belfast marathon in spring next year as well!

Actually glad elchunk bumped this I never knew this existed lol.

Quick question from me also: I am medium/thin build and really looking to gain weight (yes sounds strange as most people want to do the opposite) but I am not a fan of skinny muscle haha. Can anybody recommend any methods or products eg; Weight gain etc. (Anybody who says "just" eat more should be shot haha) Feedback appreciated guys :D

light weights to start with and start to work cardio into your routine more, crosstrainer is very good for loosing fat,and you say you want to strenghten back are you wanting to use weights as said or just use body weight as theres pull ups and back raises

lol, I tried a few of those muscle gain things years ago and tbh they were all pretty much worthless for me. whey protein, creatine, la muscle tablets and powder from a bucket i nicknamed cow lick! lol

I only used these every now and again as they where owned by someone else, so that could contribute to my view of them being worthless...

For your back have you ever used a exercise ball? These are good for slot of things as kellsed said are you wanting to use weights? If so and you are on the heavy side (no offence mate matter of speech :nice: ) use a medium weight you are comfortable with cross trainer and row machine are both good options for muscle build and weight loss main thing though is eat the healthy stuff try cut out carbs and it more protein fish, new potatoes etc

Kellsed- congrats on your qualifaction mate I've done my level 3 best thing I've ever done :nice:

i've started doing a 15 minute 10km/h jog followed by the same duration on the cycling machine at a similar intensity. Have yet to try the corss trainer but going to try it out tomorrow. My lower back has been a weak point for years and i would like to build up strength in it after injuring it years ago, starting to do alot of core work with my mate which is helping but dont know of any weight related exercises for the back?
