Not quite what you were all expecting....

I got shunted on the motorway today I was stationary, the guy was probably doing around 15mph maybe less, trying to brake, clearly he didnt succeed and went into the back of me....

Now intially I was thinking ok whats the damage, but to my surpise I cant see anything, the faintest of marks on the bumper, the alignment is fine, i checked underneath theres no gaps in the joints, the crash bar is straight, theres no cracks or visible damage.

Without going through all the bullshit rigamoral of taking to a garage and wasting my day, is it safe to say the cars OK?

Cheers all.

Joe

glad to see the cars ok mate

although wasnt expecting to read that gong by your title hahaha

Honda bumpers are superb at taking light impacts, the complete opposite of Ford Mondeos which explode if you sneeze near them.

If you can't see any obvious damage I would say it's OK.

I'd take to a garage for piece of mind as there might be damage u can't physically see

he was travelling around 15mph when he went up your arse?

kinky.

There was lots of lube involved !

@ross I would whip the bumper off but I'm at work and I really dont have the time to do it.

Ya I may pop it in the garage at somepoint, thanks all.

Have a sweet inside the spare wheel well. Have seen the seams split around the back pannel. Easy tnight to do, use a torch underneath to highlight any hairline crack if there is any.

That's quite surprising... Someone reversed into my front end before at about 5mph before and it completely screwed the bumper, broke a headlight and bent a wing...

Cheers Kieran,

Will get the maglite out tonight and blast it about lol

Ouch, doesn't sound pleasant aha. I'd say your probably fine but if it was me I'd take it to get checked out just to be sure :)

If you were done up the arse at 15 mph you would be better off with a doctor than a garage!

This happened to me once and there was no damage at all. Not even to the bumper. I think if the plate hits they dont mark.. That said i took my bumper off and went over it with a fine tooth comb.
I would advise you to do the same, any knock of problem you have in the future you will keep questioning the knock otherwise.

Thanks guys, yes modler I agree mate - I'm gonna strip the bumper back tonight and have a little poke around but its a relief from the initial inspection things look ok in terms of bumper alignment, crash bar not damaged etc, its just more ball ache otherwise i cba with.
