Feel free to correct me if im wrong, but I never thought that the 'torque' gains from gearbox play, higher FD etc would show up on a dyno? as it is spread over the revs rather than to increase the peak torque figure.

AFAIK it increases both. You can more or less just raise the whole curve a bit. The reason your car becomes faster, is that it gets more torque and therefor hp to the ground. Maybe I'm wrong, but why else would a car be faster with shorter gears? To go faster you need to increase power at the wheels/ground OR lessen the losses like drag and drivetrain loss. By modding your gearbox with a shorter fd (for example) you are not decreasing any form of resistance so it must be increased hp/tq at the wheels.

On the other hand, that would mean that horsepower at the flywheel wouldn't change. But if it wouldn't, it would mean that the drivetrain has become more efficient and that there are less losses. So I'm not sure what part of my reasoning is wrong.

ye my bad sorry. No lads, no turbo, no nos, its a road car. Mods are b16 stroked to 1800 usin 1.8 crank and rods but with civic pistons. Mugen airbox, power fc, full exhaust, aem fuel rail, carbonetics clutch, and bit of gearbox work. Torque is in lbft's. I.ll put up printout as soon as i can. Anyone who wants a spin give me a shout.

So wat are tha actual flywheel figures?? 227hp with 162lb/ft from basically a b18c with civic pistons in, breathing mods and a remap?????

Those are the type of figures ud see from a b20vtec build with type R cams or bigger???

U sure that intake manifold u got isnt actualy conected to the crank and is in fact a small supercharger lol

Dunsy has ~150 lbs ft on a very acc dyno. Another 12 lbs ft is a massive difference up from that on a honda.

EDIT: Kris b18 racecar made 162 lbs ft with ITBS and a fully built engine .

yea your right mate! I suppose he isnt telling the whole story or being very accurate as to what mods he has or what dyno he has been on, etc. Hopefully he can clear things up

what dyno was his done on. I got mine done on a dyno pack. The one that bolts to hubs. Why would i bother puttin up figures and then lyin about mods. If you think i'm bluffin then fine but i'm gonna put up a link to where i bought the car and it'll show you every mod done and no turbo, no charger, no nos, jealousy get ya no where bud.

He isn't jealous, just skeptical. I'm not saying it is not true, but the numbers you're talking about is A LOT for a B16B with such minor mods. I can understand the skepticism.

no not sure when i put up link you'll see it jus says 1800 stroker kit but a tuner over here says its either a jun one coz they raise compression or teg crank, rods and civic piston's which will do exact same as jun. All i've done with it is put power fc in it which i bought off a lad on this site last year. I don't no how its possible either but i got it dyno'd without fc and it was 219flywheel, 174 wheel and 147fblt. Sorry forgot to add, i've put a teg r throttle body on it too since that. But that's it really.

well going by the Mod list on the for sale advert it has had headwork done.

Judging by the car itself its obviously had alot of money spent in japan so really wouldnt surprise me if you had some other goodies in there that you or the seller didnt know about man!

ha i no what ya mean but i had skunk 2 pro series in this and had to sell them cost i lost my job so didn't have money for map. The lad that i sold them too gave me his ek9 ones. I took the out of his engine my self. Ah all is good, i hope to be doin a track day in uk soon so i.ll give ya a spin in it, when's the next one comin up?

I was with him when he got it mapped before and after ya can easily feel the difference pulls like ****in train, it has all the right mods who the **** needs a super charger or turbo honda would have made one from factory with one n/a the only way to go........................
