George's EK9


Nice one.. Sure it was sambo something or like that on here that used to own the 9. Coilovers should be decent man, I'll prob get them next once mine die lol. No free t shirts but he usually shoves hunners of other **** for me haha
 
Sambo didn't own this one, went and done research and this isn't the one he had, his was 926 on the reg and mines is 706. 2 numbers of a difference lol
 
Adam's service is top notch and I prefer buying stuff from him. Noticed a few folk going for 6TWO1 coilovers - let us know how you get on with them. What spring rates?
 
Yeah he's a good guy, got a few things off him before and cannot complain. Will post on here how I get on with them and will check spring rates later tonight and pm you them.

Had a loan of a dc2 airbox off a mate for my old ej9 when I done the d16 conversion. He recently sold his dc2 before I got the chance to give him it back so he let me buy it for a good price and fitted it this morning. Will need to get a spoon filter for it soon as just on an oem style filter at the moment.

Go for a k&n one. Re-use able and better gains. Spoom one is too dear for minimal gains! :)

What does re-useable mean? You can drive more than once with it? :shocked:

Nice looking 9 though. Will be much better with the s4c and once the eBay coilovers are removed. Who an earth would fit that crap to a car that already handles great!! :yuno:

Did you buy that white rocketcover mate sure i sold that to you a few months back or maybe it was another george lol
 
@MarkMcG I had k&n filter on my d14 and it seemed pretty good so yeah may try a k&n instead! Thanks

@fljoshua129 Yeah unsure why you would ever put them on a ek9. It's okay on smooth roads but not like we ever get that much!

@SK1992 Wasn't me mate! This is my first b-series civic and plan to get a wrinkle red one for it at some point in the future.
 
Did you notice any gains with the dc2 airbox? Or just better sound :p

It sounds a little better and seems to pull a bit better. Even kept up with my mates ek9 even with the s9b box but had to back off before I took off due to the horrible coilover springs. Didn't fancy ending up in a hedge yesterday!
 
Update time! Got my 6TWO1 coilovers fitted with my hardrace rear camber adjusters and cyberspeed LCA's. Also fitted a standard ek9 ecu to replace my current setup as I had no idea what map was on it and it came into VTEC at 5.2k. Didn't feel this was safe so went back to a standard one and it seems to actually pull better now. Also checked the exhaust system and it is a genuine Mugen twinloop backbox, I'm pretty happy with that!

After doing some work on the car we felt we had to decat it before I left.....

And how it currently sits on the coilovers. May need a bit of adjustment on the height and car also needs alignment done after fitting these parts as well as a good wash!

Today my new gearbox arrived, an oem ek9 s4c as my car has the longer s9b box in it, not sure what happened to the original gearbox in the car but got this for a decent price.

Been told it crunches when high up the revs in 3rd so guessing it is needing a synchro. Not sure the best place to get replacement ones are as these are double syncrhos in 3rd? Any information is appreciated.
 
@Saxby the difference is night and day mate, drives awesome with these but does need a geometry setup at some point soon to get the most out of it.

Try some honda mtf 3 as a first resort see if it improves. Gearbox oil has sorted out a lot of gearboxes I've come across.

Yeah did think about that, going to try get casing off first and see if can see anything is screwed first before it even gets fitted!
