Garage the R and get a pickup

Okay so in the last few days, with all the things I'm having to get to sort the civic out, I'm actually thinking of finding a lockup and leaving the R in there. Doing the odd thing to it myself and get it perfect and trackable for next year or the year after… The only issue is that I am really liking the idea of getting a pickup or over all massive truck. This isn't helped by the fact I have seen Hilux surfs for just over a grand and my insurance would be less then half the amount for a year over the EP3. I'm just getting so fed up of having to drive carefully so I don't hurt the civic in anyway (driving soooooo slow over speed bumps act) I just love the idea of being able to hit them at what ever speed I want!
So can someone either talk me out of this stupid idea or point me in the right direction! :secret:

Cheers
Cris

I think it is a perfect idea, this is what we just got for the winter, my gf is going to learn to drive in this :D Not only I don't need to slow down for speed bumps I can also ignore kerbs and other nuisance that normally have detrimental effect on the condition of my 9 :D Can't wait to take it for some proper offroading too!

Have you got any pics mate and how much?
I'm not sure when I would get this but the idea is still growing on me!

Got it for £700 which was a real bargain, considering there is no major rust on it (unlike most), it had brand new tyres fitted plus loads of other stuff on it (2'' lift, spot/rally lights, custom made bumpers etc...) It has a few battle scars but who cares?

Nice vit, wish i'd bought one instead of my rav4.

Depends on what you want it for, I haven't taken it offroad yet but I expect it to be great and good fun! Rav4 will be a lot better on the road, the Vitara is more of a real offroader (especially with all the mods), but not that good on road obviously.

Couple of years ago I bought a truck, V10 F250 4WD to pull a trailer with my civic. I LOVE it!
Paid 4K USD

Same as the below...

Nice! Not sure I could run a V10 in Britain tho, a (US) gallon of gas is around $8.50 here....

13,ooo lbs of towing capacity.
Im getting 14mpg with a 24gal tank.
Soon to be used only for track days. Trying to get a beater to use as a daily slave unit.
[bmw 850Ci series is looking very good at the moment... v8 version.]

yes, its not good on gas, was posting as I was in the same boat but I took the extreme route...lol, but glad I did~ :)

3/4 ton truck, like parting of the waters, cars just get the fu(k out of the way and I never get cut off in traffic anymore.

been there and yes it makes life a lot easier until said rusty 4x4 costs u buttload to get bodywork fixed for it's mot. just had the sills and rear arches rebuilt on my fourtrak and was in the process of doing brake pipes and various other little jobs that needed doing.

That's why I'm thinking a cheap shitty one with an MOT and if it doesn't last a year then o well
Scrap it and bring the EP back out to play :)

How about a Honda CR-V
Has any body had or had experiences with them
I'm thinking one of them and each some beasty tyres on it and maybe lift it a bit?
