Just had a right nightmare with the rear LCA's swapping them, thought the fronts were simple, lowered the car and the shock came up through the top mount, have I missed swapping something off the pen shock onto the coil over? I had to use the own top mounts as none were supplied with the coilovers. Would appreciate If anyone could help, or if they have had the same problem.

We're does the thick washer go ?locate ? I had to use the old top mounts..... I'm on a budget and using cheap coilovers :(

On the shock it should taper in near the top, on the rod?

The washer should be slotted on the top and then the rest of the top mount to stop it skiing straight up.

You understand what I mean? It hard to explain over the Internet.

Yhhh kind of, do you have to replace the big metal sleeve off of the OEM shock ?

Number 13 dude, that image help?

Also cut the bump stop in half for more clearance when lowered.

Cheers stokes dude, you have no idea how much you have helped me out, really appreciate it :))

When you say cut the bump stop in half do you mean 14? On mine it's orange, but it appears I got a new bump stop with the new damper.

No worries bud, yeah I meant 14 but if you've got some with the new shocks then use them.

If you can, change the title of this thread to mention the strut coming through the top mount.

It may help someone else if their in the same boat as you when searching the forum. :)

Yhh I'll try and change it, I'm sure there will be others that face this proble
Thanks again dude

Stokes I forgot to say, will I need to swap over no11 on the diagram, the metal sleeve ?

lol, i did this years ago when i did shocks for the first time.

Big thanks again stokes, sorted my coilovers problem this morning and now my EJ9 is looking helps flush. You helped me out big time was scared my car was gonna be stuck on the ramp at work for another week and I start my new job at SEAT on Monday, so relieved :))

Im a mechanic and I presumed it would be as simple as a straight swap lol how wrong oil was, the rear OEM Lca's ..... I wanted to kill, 1 week of annoyance and waiting for parts + another £200 for the primal age :( lol ..... At least I have my civic on the road again.

BUILD THREAD COMING SOON !!!!

B18/B16 to come !!!!
