I found a (JDM) ITR long block at a junk yard for $250.00 usd....seriously considering picking it up. How do you think I would have to spend to add the B18C block to my B16B head and CTR tranny? So basicly rebuilding the bottom end, do I need the ITR ECU? I would replace the timing belt and oil pump, what else? Should I resurface the block? bearings, seals, rings? I already have a fairly new stage 1 clutch and lightened flywheel, just looking for an estimate.....I could probably sell the head and make all my money back, right? How much gain would I see...torque and HP? Is it worth the time and money? Thanks.

If it was mine i would just buy a new head gasket and cam belt and fit it. As its still in Japan was most prob well looked after. How much money have you got you could/want to spend?

Who told you cars are well looked after here??? It's in a junk yard with no wheels or knuckles sitting on the oil pan / fly wheel, the nuts are off the valve cover, no intake or rad hoses and i saw a little water in the head. It rains here a lot....that's why i want to rebuild. so it's a good upgrade right? I got $10,000.00 not saying i want to spend that much, maybe $1000.00 but like i said i like i can sell the itr head. I see them go for $800 on ebay. What about the ECU.

If it was me then i would just fit some new ek9 pistons (higher CR), new rings, check bearings, fit sump baffle plates, Spoon head gasket and then fit all your bits to it.
You will need a 95-98 dc2 ecu
