Focus RS Mk1

Saw alot of the new RS Focus's on the Nurburgring this year. And to say they least i was not impressed.

I often find it hard to compare cars like this to an equivelant honda i'd like to own.

I do like them old and new i just wouldnt want to own one - they just lack something special something i cant put my hand on !

As for the lift off oversteer debate - a guy i know of had his focus rs for little over a couple of weeks and folded it in two round a street light - he said he didnt even realise the back end had stepped out ! It was written off and he went ahead and bought another Focus RS !

I guess it depends what kind of car you were after - i guess is i wanted a fast FWD boosted car i'd have an EP3/DC5/EK9/DC2 with turbo/supercharged K20. I'd put money on any one of these being faster and more reliable than a Focus RS.

As for the reliability part though - every car can have problems - honda's arent bulletproof like so many profess - they are in my opinion more reliable than other manufacturers but anything can happen thats the happy world of motoring.

Thanks for all the feed back dudes.....some good advice!

Think its a toss up between the DC5 or the FRS....have to admit though, leaning towards the FRS!

Wouldnt fancy supercharging a DC5 though...as it just smells of a money pit! And getting 280/290bhp out a FRS seems relatively cheap and straightforward! :nice:

Cheers,

R

Go and buy the FRS then, if you change your mind i'm sure you will get very similar money for selling it - they hold their value well im sure you are aware.
