Me and a mate fitted my single din head unit into my facelift ek9, taking out the original double din unit. What a pain in the arse that is, half the dash out just to get it out lol :shocked :

Anyways guys & gals I have some questions:

1. Where the hell do you fix the single din cage into the car? Once you get the double unit out there is literally nothing left to fix anything to, what has anyone else done!?

2. Where the hell do you get a facia plate to either cover the gap or fill the gap with a little storage hole? I cannot find one anywhere and local Honda dealers have no idea what the part number for them is therefore the cant order it lol!

I would be grateful if someone could answer any of the above as my mate who works at a honda specialist garage doesn't even know where to fix the cage in or where to get the facia so I thought I would ask the people most likely to know. :D:bow::)

Some pics of the unit are attached below just so you can see where were at so far!

Thanks :nice:

Is there not a thing with a pocket you can get off ebay mate? Sorry someone who's done this to a facelift before might be able to be a bit more specific :)

There is two brackets that screw onto the inside of the carbon face and then these you screw through to fit the radio and pocket. If you ask your mate at Honda to order the pocket for a UK spec EP3 this should do the job.

Dunc when you say pocket, what do you mean? Not the facia but something that goes into the dash.....??

I found this facia on ebay for a prelude:

HONDA LEGEND PRELUDE FASCIA FACIA PANEL FP 15 00 on eBay, also, Fascia Plates, In-Car Entertainment GPS, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 22-Jul-08 12:34:31 BST)

Does anyone know if this fit into an ek9??

its like a little slot that fits in the dash, handy for putting your phone etc in, would be better than that prelude thing.

In my country you can find in car radio dealers, single din install kits, I installed one and paid like 40$ for it:

Ok thanks rvm, I will try & find a din kit, think I can get a storage single din insert.

How did you fix your stereo inside the dash, where does your cage fit onto? Or does it just sit in there ok without being screwed or clipped in?

Thanks! :nice:

The radio was screwed, the kit came with a "cage", but the guy didn't use it, he just screwed the radio to the oem cage :nice:

What I did, and I suggest you do the same, is to shift radio unit up and put some screws in the holes were the arrows point.

As for the space remaining, a rasio dealer will have universal cases, and he should be able to fit one wit no probz:nice:

Thanks for the replies guys!! :nice:

When you say put some screws into those holes marked, do you mean screw them into the side of the stereo??!! :nono:

I have ordered the single din facia install kit so the front will look fine, I just know how to fix it behind.

The radio should have threaded holes on the side just like every other unit. Surely one of them will align with the holes marked in the above pics...

Oh right I see, I will have a look tonight then and see if any line up!

Cheers for the help Fonzu!! :nice::D
