Hey guys, firstly - I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this so delete If it isnt. :)

This year me and some other guys from work have decided to embark on our first ultra (running), and a special one to say the least - Ramsays round challenge!

We're doing it on the 24/25th August, setting off around 3-5pm so the night section is on the relatively 'flat' area of the course as I don't fancy cliff jumping without a parachute. :p

The challenge itself consists of 55 miles of fell running around 24 of Scotland's highest Munro's (glen nevis area) in 24 hours (a Munro being a mountain above 3,000 ft)

We're doing this event to raise money for Cardiomyopathy Association and the Children's Hospice Association of Scotland. Any support you can offer towards these causes would be massively appreciated! Oh and help spread the word!

1(F) Sqn Royal Air Force is fundraising for Cardiomyopathy Association

Thanks for reading.. If you got this far ;-). :nice:

3 days till we travel up now, bit nervous but should be a blast with all the training we've done. The last 17 hour session we did was great apart from me leaving my leggings in the car - was a cold cold 17hours haha. :(

Will let you all know how we get on, once I've slept for a day or 2 after :nice:

Sounds like a big challenge, good on you for taking part in it,
Hope it all goes well for you.

Good luck mate, just thinking about doing that has made me all tired.

Donated some monies there, good luck on the day. Going towards a very good cause! :nice:

Cheers for the comments guys! Much appreciated! :nice:. 3 day's of carb loading has now started - hate doing it though as it makes me sluggish and feel fat @ 68Kgs - haha!

Elchunk, You're a legend pal, going to a very good cause and worthy challenge.

Maybe if you come over to england for a day, I'll buy you a beer - if you drink :)

No problem mate, add more once I get paid again. in brum atm heading for Belgium in the morning!

Fairly safe to say I'm hurting now, feet and ankles are swollen as my feet have been wet for the past 25 odd hours. Yay, kankles!

By far the hardest thing I've done in terms of hours spent walking/running up mountains. Funny how Ben nevis was the biggest, yet easiest.

Big thanks to you guys who donated! (shame you didnt put forum names in) :p The site will remain open to donations for the next week or so - to try and get the last few pounds in to help the charities as CMA is a pretty small charity compared to most! Every little helps.

Sorry if this didn't sound right, I'm soo knackered lol

Heres a couple of pictures of what we had to take down

Pretty much shear 2000ft drops either side - dont look down..

an awesome shot at 7am having done near 24 hours already :D. Sun was soo motivational
