Exhaust spacer?

I've recently aqcuired a Buddyclub Pro Spec cat-back exhaust, originally off and EG hatch, but going on my EK..

It fits, but the rear section of pipe (the "U" shaped part joined to the backbox that goes over the LCA) is fouling on the ARB.. From what I've read EG exhausts are a tad shorter than EK exhausts and looking at my car I can see that the backbox section needs spacing back about an inch and it'll no longer foul on the ARB.

My plan was to use an extra flange, between the joint (between the backbox section and the mid pipe) with a couple of longer bolts to space it all back abit, but I can't find any flanges in the right size/dimensions.. Does anyone know of anything suitable?

I ask because I do not want to cut it apart and weld it.

The bore of the pipework is 60mm, and it's a 2 bolt flange :)

Any help appreciated! :nerv:

Maybe you can get a cheap ebay test pipe (one that matches your exhaust diameter) and tell the muffler shop to modify it to fit your car?

I think that if you go to a good muffler shop they can make you want without any issues.

I've rung around all the local exhaust places and none of them were able to help.. One place said they could cut me a flange, but it wouldnt be for a day or so and it would only be a mild steel 1/2" flange and if I needed more spacing I would just have to use more than one flange in the gap... bit too bodge for my liking.

I've just found this though, something like this would be perfect..

(obviously with 2 bolt flanges)

I have one of those (god knows where it would be) but when i bought my buddyclub prospec exhaust there was one in the box and my exhaust fitted fine without it !

The pro spec was for an ek!

That would be a task and a half to find that as its in my dads garage and im not heading over there this week, let me tell you tho if i do find it you can have it!

yeah i had the same spacer piece on my pro spec, sold now though sadly or you could of had it :D

Hmm this sounds promising!..

So I either need to find a pro spec owner who has said spacer lying around, or contact buddyclub..

I ordered the small springs needed for the spec 4 system from buddyclub uk and the service was excellant and a quick delivery, worth giving them a try anyway :nice:

Incase anyone's interested.. I spoke to Buddyclub today, and I've ordered said spacer...

£9 + VAT :D Bargain!

Ha I thought that would be that case... Can't think of anything I'll be ordering anytime soon tbh.. But if/when I do, I'll speak to you!
