Hi all,

Going to make this short and sweet. I have been looking around for a while for a DC5/EP3 steering wheel for my EK9 for a while now. Checked out all the usual haunts aswel as ebay and nothing to be found for a decent price. Then a friend of mine suggested to try a breakers yard up north. Euro Auto Salvage. Here's a link to their site (most of which doesnt work by the way). Euro Auto Salvage Ltd - Used and Salvage Subaru, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda

Rang them up and told them what I was looking for and they said. Ye. No probs. I have 12 or 13 EP3 Type R's here. Great stuff. ASked for a price and was told in or around £100 delivered to Dublin. Fantastic, i thought. Here's where it all goes pear shaped!!

Recieved the steering wheel this morning.
1. Its in rage order, very worn and covered in mould, even though he said he'd taken it from a 05 model and it was nice and clean.
2. It's missing most of the rear plastics.
3. It's missing the airbag. (which I specifically asked for)
4. It's missing belt drive for the horn. (which I specifically asked for)
5. It doesnt appear to be a proper Type R wheel.
It's got the momo stamp but the stitching is different from all the pics of ones I've seen previously.

Rang them up this morning, I couldn't have been nicer on the phone, and explained that I did not get what I was expecting nore was its condition acceptable and basically got told I was insaine to think that I was getting an airbag with a steering wheel for that price. Now, admittedly I did think that this was very cheap but I just went with the flow and made sure that I was getting everything that I wanted. I also explained this to him. He wasn't interested. Got told to ring him back this afternoon and he'd see if he can find and airbag but to expect to pay for it!!

So, as you can imagine, I am not a happy camper.....
Has anyone ever had previous experience with these guys?
Is it a lost cause?
And should I just let my credit card company dispute?

Any feedback would be great....Thanks, Mark :angry2:

Cheers for the offer bud. Gonna give them the opportunity to sort it out with me and then go from there. Expecting a call back on Monday...so I may be in touch if I get nowhere.

I know!! Only stumbled upon your ad afterwards. I may be in touch yet though. Cheers bud.

If it was me i would tell the twat i was going to get in touch with trading standard and i would tell my credit card company. I think you should do this to.

BEtween me and folk i know personally who have used or tried to use this company, well lets say theres more bad stories than good... Also heard plenty of other bad stories...

Like anything, easy to get what you want face to face, but otherwise good luck... You'd think it'd be less hassle to send the right thing in the first place, but what you've described doesnt even sound close to what you are meant to have asked for!!!

It will be the last time I buy anything over the phone from them!!

Final Update;

Finally got somewhere with these guys after I told them what my credit card company said. They also got the idea after I rang 10 times in one day, I wasn't goin away.

So this morning, I recieved the
1. Missing rear plastics, 2. Missing airbag, 3. Missing belt drive for the horn

I've gotten over it being a rag order as after a good 2 hours cleaning and polishing up the leather it's now spotless! I will post a pic up soon. It also appears that it is infact a proper Type R wheel. The pics that I had being looking at actually turned out to be one off a an S2K that had had the stitching replaced with red thread and a red H added to it. So, I guess all in all I am a happy camper now but am was very annoyed about all the hard graft I had to go through to get it sorted.

My recommendation- If you intend buying anything from these guys, make sure you go and get it and hand pick it yourself - That way you're not relying on them in the slightest!! Cheers to all for the feedback. :thanks:

these guys not too far from me,have never dealt with them fortunitly,
