Hello Guys and Girls
Ive got a thread on the members rides section but seeing as its a build now i thought I should have one here as well.
Long story short i decided i would take her off the road for a year or so and get her track ready, it only took a week and i had already decided the back needed stripping out….. so I did and here she is now

Plans are to sort out the engine. Think the piston rings are shot and god knows what else. I will be taking her to TDI North to see what they say.
Coilovers
Rear Camber Arms
Adjustable ARB front and back
16" wheels with Semi-Slicks
Front and rear Diffuser
Possibly Rear Wing
Polly Bush all the Suspension
Bucket seats
Harnesses (already part fitted)
Oil pressure and temp Gauges

Think that is about it
Any other ideas are welcome

Didn't think it would be long till you showed up… :) Seeing as you sold me a car with a possibly lame engine do you fancy buying my a new K20A ;)

Haha if i win the lottery then yes a supercharged one from japan lol

spent a fortune on that car with andrew baird before i sold it, new sump, full service etc although going by what i have heard ep3s are prone to problems.

I've spent the last 3 years looking at everyone else's build thread so now I kinda have the money I thought why not :)
Just went to see my mother and got handed a cheque for £1000 from my grandad... Happy days lol That should help some what :)

How did u screw the pistionrings up already, hard vtecing was it lol
 
They could have been gone before I had it
It used nearly 2L in as many months lol
 
Its not a common occurance surely that the B18 EK9 blew up and now this EP3?

K20 are renowned for being reliable lol nothing else.

somehow dont think it is a common occurance tbh, b18 ek9 had just short of 10k spent on it i bought the engine off a well known enthusiast on the forum and picked it up from andrew baird who again i am sure anyone on the forum can vouch for his reputation. engine was put straight into the ek9 and driven once however was too racey stripped out and was sold for a very good price. ep3 was bought off a good friend as a runabout was used daily and then i found it the sump was cracked in which once again andrew baird was paid just short of £600 to replace the whole sump off his k20 elise as well as do a full service this was all discussed prior to sale. without andrew stripping down that whole engine when there really was no need at the time if find it very hard to believe it was an occurance. i could have sold the car knowing there was an oil leak from sump however i have a very good reputation on the forum and know cris well so called him and told him that i was not prepared to sell it without doing the work, we agreed a price and work was carried out toa very high standard, i am sure andrew would be happy to vouch for both the ek9 engine and ep3. i have had 2 jordans, an evo 9 amongst many other cars and have never had a problem as well as selling cris my 182 sport before and then offering to buy it back again. Not a rant just fact look through all the threads on the forum of how many engines need rebuilding due to being worn and with a mileage of around 100k dont think it is a huge shock it uses oil i am sure cris can verify this all anyway.

Tbh mate my EP3 has done over 100,000 miles now and had 6 previous owners so the there is a high chance that at least one of those owners hasn't looked after it properly. And during the period of it using a lot of oil I was driving it quite hard. Obvs not from cold or anything but I wasn't driving like my Nan.
It still pulls really well and could be me being paranoid so before I make any further decisions I'm guna take her to my mechanic for a strip down and a timing chain so I can get the full picture of it so that will hopefully save me a **** load of money I can spend on suspension ;)

The engine on the b18 was minced, used 4 liters of oil in a 400 mile trip, engine struggled to idel ECt. It was not hard to tell there was something wrong with it stood out like a rash, but after a 7 hour drive to you i was hardly in a good state off mind to check. My mate spent thousands on it as everything was pretty minced only good thing was the cams, and the Bare head. Least you could do is admit it.

As for k20 engines they not know as oil burners like b series. My dc5 used
No oil between changes and that was using vtec on an off.

No hard feelings Dan but if another members saying he is having trouble with his car you sold him then we both can't be lieing, bottom line is you mark your cars out to be half what u describe in the post. I basically brought a over priced rolling shell. I'm gonna leave it at that as I took it as more of a learning curve then a curse. Not meaning it in a bitchy way I just had to state the facts.

Overall Dan it was nice to meet you and you seem a nice guy, its just big problems like these you shouldn't sell to forum members saves a lot of hassle ect.

fare enough mate your point of view. sold plenty of cars over the years and never had the problems. buy into honda and as decribed whole reason i sold the vsm shell to you for a bargain was due to the fact was too racey and i was well over budget on the shell. engine had been going strong for years in 689r's jordan and was seen and test driven price to purchase as well as looked over prior to me buying it! Ep3 was bought as a runaround once again not permanent as it was used as a stop gap in between buying my preferred choice of an rs. i spent £600 on the car prior to selling to cris and was also given a check by andrew baird so in no doubt on both occassions this has not been done to mis advertising imo.

But hey ho you are not going to please everyone. we shall comment on progress on this thread and not turn it into a debate.
 
How can u actually say that, the shell was missing loads of bits that wasent said in the fa thread, so that's a blatant lie not going to argue over it as your never gonna admit that your ad was ballsh*t end of convo its making me angry.
